high outside temps

What do you do if the outside temp where you leave is always in the range of the upper 90’s

Is it really safe to rung your car on boost all the time?

Think of it as a heat question…

Vegas people are expert on this First you need to upgrade your cooling system second your tune will also be catered to that weather (very conservative Timing). One of the main ingredient of Knock is Heat so cooling is a must. This is one of the reason I'm upgrading my FMIC, my IAT is around 45C-50C on 88F+ and when I did some logging I was getting knock around 4.7K. I think I'll either add little fuel there or pull some timing in that range but it is all about the tune.

I think it depends mostly on how much power you're running, and of course the tune. I'm on the stock SS box from JWT in Vegas and its constantly 110°, 120° here and so far I've not had any issues from overheating.

Here's a sample list one of the guy in my350Z was thinking about. I have heard a lot of good thing about Koyo radiator.

Are you still in MD? I would not worry about the heat coz we don't get that kinda heat here constantly like Vegas. A good oil cooler and conservative tune will do the trick in the NE. I'm more worried about the winter coz you might lean out when it get really cold

I just got done installing a VRT Koyo Radiator(g35 direct fit) and Stillen Oil Cooler. I think a Koyo radiator and good oil cooler should be the first 2 cooling parts to be upgraded. You might as well upgrade the radiator fans at the same time you upgrade the radiator, specifically Sharif's(Forged Performance) new upgraded radiator fans and custom radiator shroud setup.

If your planning to make 500hp+ I would definitely look into the methanol injection kits, some my350z members are seeing great results with meth kits. After researching and following some recent threads on my350z that state the cooling benefits and horsepower increases of using meth injection, I will be installing a meth kit in the near future.

It gets hot here in Phoenix so I got the 350Z AMS radiator and pulled some timing just to be safe. I never had any issues with the water temps going up before the radiator. This weekend I put my coolingmist injection kit back on but have not changed my tune.

QuadCam told me in FL he has not had any heating issues with his Greddy TT Sedan with the stock cooling system.

For street cars, an upgraded rad and oil cooler is sufficient. It's between 90-100F and humid for pretty much the entire summer here in Atlanta. If you decide to track the car, i would do a couple other things.

No one recommends the alcohol/water injection into the intake manifold...

That is just extra protection but do you really want another thing to monitor? with water/meth you can run a little aggressive tune on your car but if that thing ran out then you'll be in danger. My friend use it with his Turbo Civic and he always have a gallon in his trunk. We raced hard for around 15mins and he already finished half a gallon

Like sharif said just upgrade your radiator and a good oil cooler should do it. Don't worry to much

I have the cooling mist kit. Had it with my Stillen Stage 4 and just put it on the this weekend. It works great!

I have it on all the time after 7psi right not but am going to put a switch on it since I have ran the car to 10.8psi the last two nights with no issues. It will become a "as-needed" kit.
