Yes, I'm getting my tranny built by SGP during the winter.

Then lets see the lower part of that dyno!

So after running around on the wastegate spring, I got used to the power very quickly and had to bump it up. Below is a dyno of 7.5psi(dotted line) and 9.2psi(solid line)

low boost, 7.5psi: 365whp @ 6,000rpm, 360tq @ 4,300rpm

high boost, 9.2psi: 390whp @ 6,300rpm, 400tq @ 3,500rpm

This is it for now. I just need the 5AT trans to hold up until the rebuild during the winter Wish me luck!

PS: I'm pretty sure this is faster than my Vortech

at 9psi you are only 390 at the wheels seems kinda low. What dyno are you basing the number off of (Mustang or Dynojet)

^^It's a low compression motor. It was dynoed on a dynapack (load based dyno). It was also about 90 degrees and humid. It was street tuned today and some timing had to be pulled because of the cooler air.

they're just numbers anyways...the important thing is that I gained 100tq stepping up to 9.2psi from the wastegate pressure

just wonder why you are only running 9 psi on a built motor, here is a dyno of a stock motor greddy 5AT we tuned yesterday...

have fun and be safe...

Because even at my current level, the 5AT tranny slips sometimes and I'd like to keep it until I rebuild After I get it back from SGP this winter, I will turn up the boost.

On a side note, that doesn't look like a 5AT graph at all. What gear did you dyno that in? Peak tq should happen when the turbos spool, correct? which is around 3k...the peak tq on this graph is mid 4k. Doesn't make sense at all Also, I though you're not supposed to dyno a 5AT until the tq converter locks up...your graph starts way before that

the tq convertor locks up around 3700 in this particular car. thats why that loop is in the dyno. it is a greddy kit which builds boost to 9psi usually around 4000 rpms, peak tq on these cars is around 4500 rpms for the most part and that all has to do with your tune and choice of boost controller you are using...

we just did a simple manual boost controller which will build peak boost at 4500 and then fade off to about .5 psi less for the rest of the rpms...

btw that was done in 4th gear, which is a 1:1 ratio, the only gear it should be done in. i press the record button on my dyno at 2000 rpms, it slips until it locks up at 3700...

I like the way you present all the data from low rpms JT. The 5AT units are hard to dyno because of the lock up issue no question (and make it look pretty). I wish there was a way to force it to lock earlier...

617G> I think many tuners just truncate the graph so you don't see the "artifacts" - but as far as I know these "blips" are always there on the 5AT.

I don't know if they can handle more-- you have to upgrade either tranny, you can't (shouldn't) put a TT on a stock clutch, as much as you should but a tt on a tranny with no VB/cooler

Andy... are you getting a built tranny or a VB upgrade and Torque convertor? I got my car tuned at SGP and Mark recommended doing the VB and TQC soon... i took my car out to the track the other day and got about 5 passes and noticed my tranny was slippin a tad... i am also going to wait until the summer is over to take my car back down and get the VB and TQC done... then get the car re-tuned....let me know...

can't, unless it's in the first 3 gears...the car will automatically downshift below a certain RPM point and the tq converter is already locked in 4th
