maybe this would be better than the c**k and ballz look.

My photoshop skills aren't that great but you get the idea.

While I commend your improvising skills for a temporary fix, I still have to ask this question... why did you install the SC if you still did not have a hood available. Perhaps it would have been better to wait until EVERYTHING arrived at the shop.

In any case, make a trip out to Rice Boys and get yourself a fake hood scoop that all those cool (not) kids are doing with their Focus.

In answer to your question: Because it's WAY too exciting NOT to install it. Put it away in the closet to wait for a hood?!?!... I don't think so! lol. I took the day off work and waited for the postman. I had my hood off and the plenum off before it even arrived. I don't remember being so excited about anything since Xmas when I was 8! And the satisfaction of putting the new toy together myself (instead of the shop), made the experience that much more rewarding. I didn't even screw anything up. Easy install.

I'm glad I did install it, because by the time my new hood will be delivered and painted, it will be winter time...

Short Answer: Zero Patients!

So yes, it's ugly. But the joy it brings me is worth the temporary and short-term inconvenience.

If you've already cut a hole, why not just install the cowl piece instead of springing for an entire hood?

I don't like the idea of patching together a cowl... (this is coming from a guy that just cut a hole in his hood....), but seriously, I like the clean stillen hood. I think the cowl is kind of ugly as well, but... I'll take another look...
