You Vortech guys missing that tq??

you should add this to your car!!

first off the car. a Super Black 03 350z that we built this engine a back in Dec. just a simple build, low compression pistons, eagle rods, stock cams, stock everything really. we threw some nitrous on to get it by. Next we added a brand new Vortech supercharger to the equation. we decided to go with the 2.87 pulley and tune it to a safe level. we netted this. remember low compression. also my dyno has been being mean for some reason lately.

NOW for the fun. we left the nitrous on the car and decided to throw a small shot on top of it. while nitrous and a vortech have exactly opposite power curves, we decided it would be a perfect match. WOW, we were right.

here is the start, a small 50 shot. notice 150 instant ft pounds of tq

we now upgraded to a 75 shot but started to run out of nitrous, when you get low on nitrous, it hits really hard then always acts funny at first on the dyno . then it will put out less power than it should until you fill the bottle again. check that tq out..

another 75 shot graph, look at the instant 225 ft pounds of tq!!

here is the overlay of all of them...

now for the fun. we filled the bottle and changed the jets to 100 shot. we didnt feel like putting it back on the dyno. we just took it out on the street to tune it real world. we figure it would put down a safe 500/500 all day long. we have the utec controlling the nitrous, along with a safety switch and a push button. i CANT believe how fast this is, you have the ungodly tq of nitrous plus the top end pull of a Vortech. perfect match!! having the nitrous on a switch will allow you to get normal traction in 1st and 2nd gears then add the extra 100 or so hp in 3rd and up.

Justin will be taking this to the track here soon and see what he runs, i know he will have a lot of fun and put up a lot of videos.

basically this would be a safe addition on a stock block with a 35 to 50 shot. this will provide all the tq you are normally missing under 5000 rpms. we set this to come on at 3000 rpms and stop at 6400. this is a fun way to add onto your Vortech to make it complete...

Wow, very nice. I always wondered how long a 50/75/100 shot of nitrous would last. Is it only useful for straight line bursts?

it pretty much lasts as long as you hold down the button. the pressure in the bottle will drop so the hp will fall with the pressure.

its a great way to add power to a lot of different setups.

Just wondering to get some kind of figure in my head how much would it cost to put a good nitrous in a car if you already have a utec (just parts not install). I haven't really looked too much into the nitrous yet more just into sc and turbos, so just kind of being lazy and curious.

I wish you can try it on my stg IV. The torque numbers are so lacking, even with a new EMS. Unfortunately i am in Cali.

I had a 55 shot with my stage 4 Stillen. Worked great but my rings didn't like it.
It started eating through massive amounts of oil.
