just remember get yourself a checklist BEFORE even going to a shop to get the work done....

it really comes down to not cutting corners and finding the right shop (if you dont do the work yourself) as its been stated above.

Also i would go with JWT just cause i know theyve been a far long nissan supporter.

Good luck and keep us posted

Things only break if you use "All" of the extra power. I like the way the TT makes it so I can get past pretty well anyone with only half throttle. If you continually go WOT, yes, something is going to break. Otherwise, you will have a very dependable DD.

Yea I understand that they can be very reliable if installed right, but its just one more thing to to go wrong. The same idea still applys, the further from stock your car is, the less relliable it will be. But thats what I have a DD for, so if something breaks, just drive the beater.

So I take it you have never heard horror stories of brand new cars off the show room floor spending more time at the dealer getting repaired than on the street? Getting a new car only guarantees that with warranty...the manufacture will attempt to fix it for free.....does not guarantee that that car will not brake down! Take me for example with a fully built car....ZERO ISSUES! But I can rest assure that the work is being backed up by a reputable shop. Car manufactures make mistakes...Reputable shops makes mistakes...its what they do after that that makes the difference.

In my experience.....I have had more problems with new cars than any of the cars I have had work done on. It all comes down to who does the work and how you treat the car after words. I take my car to the road race track everytime I get a chance....so dont think I baby my cars.

One thing I forgot to add..........

adding a turbo or SC kit should really only be for the non-**** retentive people out there!!!! and you really should be very mechanically inclined!

I say this because no aftermarket kit will be perfect. You cannot reasonably expect every aspect of the system to be as perfect as OEM.

If you are going to be a frak and complain because you A:F ratio fluctuates a few tenths while crusing, don't do anything to your car! You don't understand that their are pros and cons to putting aftermarket partd on your car.

Don't laugh; there are people out there like this!

Its not just about daily driving its about how you drive! If you have you foot down its throat all the time it doesnt really count as a DD!

Im running an ATI with 90k miles about 25-30 track days 50kmiles of this is boosted though....

I just now started having stupid issues with seals and fuel pumps.

OK, so if one decides to NOT go SC/turbo what's the best bang for the buck in intake/exhaust mods to get some power increases and sound nice to boot? Some of the Fast Intentions vids on here sound nice; how's the power and torque?

lol, i just recently heard of someone like that

but what Andrew is saying is very true. there will always be a few small things that wont be as smooth as oem but then you are rewarded w/ massive amounts of power and will make you forget but the small things

every motor is different so every kit acts different on every car.

i'm happy w/ my TN kit. the basic kit does have some issues but if its installed by a proper installer then some of the problems can be eliminated

do lots of research, then make the decision

MD spacer/ztube-stillen intake is the best bang for the buck.

the decision of intake/exhaust combo should only be based on sound. performance diff are very minimal

not a big fan of the fast intentions exhaust, have heard a few are did not like it.

i'm a big fan of the hks and amuse exhaust, sound sick and look amazing

I've liked the Fast Intentions I've heard on vid clips; I don't know about you guys but to me the G35 is a luxury car that's also sporting. I don't want it sounding obnoxiously loud like some ricemobile.

This is very true. If you are someone that stresses over little things and are not very mechanically inclined, don't go FI. A couple of weeks ago I started hearing a clanking noise whenever I had to brake kinda hard or when I had to go up or down a steep driveway. Because I have had modded cars for over 10 years now and consider myself pretty mechanically inclined, I didn't panic. I started searching for the source of the noise and found that my crankshaft pulley was hitting the piping for my Vortech and that's where the noise was coming from. There was maybe a 1-2mm space between the crankshaft pulley and the piping. So it wasn't hitting all of the time but did hit when I had to brake hard or when the body of my G flexed a little bit when going up or down a steep driveway. So I just loosend the fittings for the piping and pulled it away from the crankshaft pulley. Now there is at least a half an inch space between the pulley and the piping, which is more than enough. No more clanking. My point is that someone not mechanically inclined would probably stress and waste his time and his shop's time for something very minor.

Can you recommend ones that are good? Also why (or how) does this replace the need for a new exhaust? Is the stock exhaust not constrictive and only needs minor modification?

I had a Stillen SC for a year and now am about to hit a year with my Greddy TT. I love the Greddy kit and would never go back. I think a TT kit with a good EMS and great tune is the best DD. Almost no lag and sooooo much fun!
