Sticky BOV - Lubricate?

OK, I just spent a hour taking off my BOV to find out why it wasn't opening. It turns out, it was just stuck. A little finger pressure and it clicked open and everything is fine now. Would it be safe to put WD-40 or silicone lubricant on the seal, or do I have to take the BOV apart and poke it every time it gets stuck?
