I'm gonna need to find somewhere in Cali that I can get this kind of analysis done.

Hexx, you just send your oil to them with the kit they send you. I plan to do this once my TN kit is on.

anyone try 20w 50? My shop recommanded that with FI cars. I used it for 1000 miles so far with no issues.

+1, Just order the Test Kit and they will send you a container. If you are planning to do a multiple test then they have a package you can buy. FYI, I suggest to send the container on a small box and use UPS/FEDEX to ship. USPS seem to have problem scanning the Cylindrical Container, and some times it doesn't get to Blackstone.

I thought FI cars would need a thicker oil to insure safety, so wouldnt 5w30 be too thin?

It would be a good idea for you to peruse the oil analysis thread and see the results people got with Royal Purple... if you haven't done that already.

I went ahead and bought six delicious quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic 0W-40. Yummy!

What filter will you be using? lots of High powered Z/G35 uses the OEM Filter... Don't spend the extra $$$ and just go with the OEM Filter. Oh,I used OEM Filter on my Oil Analysis.

I was planning to use K & N.. but I would have had to order it and wait for it to arrive so I went with a WIX filter.. good to know that OEM filters seem to perform well with FI. I know that FRAM should be avoided.
