Question Is this a good______??

Well since everybody making there own custom gauge pods for they G's, I think I should give it a shoot. If all fails, I guess that I'll have to use the A-pillar pod that I have already.

I want either the pod in the cubby, or mounted on top of the clock (2005) . I guess the problem I have is that I will be using 3 GReddy 60mm Warning Gauges, and they are HUGH. Here the LINK to the pod that I plan to start out from. (I know if I put the gauges in the cubby, that I'm going to cut the pod in 3 pieces. etc)

So my question is do you think that this pod is a good starting??

That thing looks like it is going to be pretty deep. You are going to have a very hard time making that fit either on top of the clock or in the cubby unless you end up cutting the front 2 inches off and going from there.

That brings me to a good point, the flap that hangs over the front will be copped off. (It doesn't look clean IMO.)

Also if you know where to get a better triple 60mm Gauge pod (that doesn't cost like $100), please post a link. Thanks

after seeing a pod on top of the clock, i dont think it looks good. Too big.

But if you wanted to use that pod as a start, i'd heat it up and bend it to fit the curves of the clock piece. screw it down and bondo it smooth. shouldnt be too hard.

Oh yes, there no way that pod is going into my G without being modded in some way. This will be just a starting point to fab something up. It's just I can't find any other triple 60mm pod less than $200 (made for STi & WRX).

ya i know you would mod it, but i just think that the molded ones look way too big in person. I'd mock up the cheap plastic one and decide if you like it there before you spend all the time molding it to the dash

Point taking, however this is the cheapest 60mm pod that I can find. I think anything would be better than the A-pillar pod I have. The A-pillars pod would take up to much of my view. If this pod is still to big, I will have to work my magic and fad it to somehow fit in the front cubby.

I got a used a-pillar pod on the forums.

I haven't installed it yet, but the a-pillar is the best spot for gauges IMO.

Here's how mine came out for reference. They are 52mm but 60mm would go there just as well.

What about this one?

Its 52mm, but you can shave it out to 60mm easy. I think the other one is too big. Or you could just get 3 rings/pods and glass you own basically from scratch.

this is the one i saw in person.

different strokes.... totally balla *** car though. every bling mod you could want was on it! You can kinda see where the fiberglass/bondo is pulling up. I have custom A pillar speaker pods and they do the same thing bc the dash gets sooo hot.

Has anybody used this and then hooked up the Defi Temp, boost, AF sensors to it so that you could see them on the HUD.

Do a search on for Gauges and you'll find several ideas.
