FI advice

So im looking into FI this summer. I am trying to figure out what setup and tuning will gain me the most power and be conservative on the engine. What are the thoughts as far as best kit for stock block? From what I have seen, around 500HP on stock internals isnt holding up for people

I'm going with Sound Perf's kit in chicago. After thinking bout It I decided to go with a basic bottom end too (which added a month onto the build whoops) cause all the kits put you in that grey area of power on the stock block. Plus my tuner would be a friend and local. That is huge to me. What do you do if your shop is 1000 miles away............

What do you get? EASY, what you pay for. There are more threads about which FI to get than threads of hair on my head. I do not personally know but I do know how to search. So I am going to go do my own search and find the answer for my personal knowledge.

Your "Friend" may be a tuner but will he be able to find the most power, or have a good tune on your stock block. I am willing to bet $1k on "no". If you are looking to go cheap on FI (of all things), DON'T do it.

Im thinking from what I have seen, Im going to end up going with the turbonetics single kit. I have seen a wide variety of prices on the kit online through different retailers, anyone know who has the best deal?

Exactly, you definately get what you pay for. If you know FI on any car in the US, then you know SP. I meant friend across the board.....SP will be installing and tunning their turbo kit on my car with the pro efi. I have known chris forever, and larry for years. Larry Prebis of sound performance will be doing the tune on the pro-efi on my car (well I am assuming, but since he tunes all the cars it only makes sense)....

So I AM GETTING THE BEST SINCE I WENT WITH SP........thats the simplest statement to make.

If you're going with the Turbonetics kit you'll be happy, if I had a chance to go back and get a turbo, I would get one of those too. Who's doing the install?

The install shouldnt be that difficult, and i have a friend that does dyno tuning so that will take care of that issue

You have your opinion and I have mine....

I am not sure how you came to the conclusion that SP is the best....because I assure you that many will not agree....

you have Shops like Forged Performance, Performance Factory, GTM, MRC putting out tons of reliable monster power cars daily...so please share with me how they are the best?

SP is NOT the only shop that will be installing the pro-efi...and the last time I checked...some of the claims of that devise have not yet been proven (reference: www.my350z.com). I am now pushing over 600whp ( and my car was sent back to Forged to go for over 655whp) on a daily driver with zero issues for almost a year now. So I could easily claim that Forged is the best....but how could someone like me make that statement in the presence of shops like GTM, SGP,MRC and PF? All I can say is that Forged is the only shop for me....

So I eagerly await your response on what makes Sound Performance better than all the other Top Notch Shops on here and my350z.

On the west coast I only trusted GTM, I have been to other places and did not get what I had asked for. As stated before there are half a dozen shops that can deliver exactly what you need.

VTR also does a great job with the install of the Turbonetics kit, I'm very happy with mine. Just make sure you pick a shop that you trust, because if you do have any trouble with the car, they are the ones who will be fixing it.
