Couple Questions.
Hello..
few questions.
1- im installing my vortech kit this week. i picked up some 440's and im wondering if i put them in, will my car start, and run, so i can drive it to be tuned. also, i have a walbro 255 that i will be installing as well.
2- will an aftermarket plenum (custom plenum) mean i need to be re-tuned?
3- i have a 5AT. what kind of numbers should i expect, without endangering my car?
thanks in advance,
mike

1-Yes, your car should start and you should be fine to drive it to get tuned.
2-Not necessarily but it's a good idea to check to make sure the existing tune is still gonna work once you add the plenum. After I added my spacer and HFC's and changed my exhaust, the car went on the dyno. My G was tuned conservatively anyways so the existing tune was still fine.
3-Depends on what pulley you are going to run. With the 3.33, I would guesstimate 340-350ish. It kinda depends on what other supporting mods are already on the car.

1. Peeps said your car should start, mine didn't with 550cc, it bogged and barely start, then sometimes stall, no way in hell I could of drove it, I couldn't barely get it out of the garage, so I had to tow it to go get a tune, this is what I suggest anyways, spend a little extra for getting it to the tune IMO, don't want any troubles getting it there.
2. Aftermarket Plenum you will need a re-tune, but no worries, I'm assuming you're installing it when you're doing the vortech anyways? If you're doing after the tune, you'll need a re-tune again for the hell of it, better safe then sorry.
3. Depending what pulley you got and what dyno you using, expect 330-350 +
If you're 5AT, get a tranny cooler
I suggest upgrading your tranny also, getting a torque conveter and a vb upgrade, cause sooner or later, you're going to have to do it period

Transgo is the kit they use to modify your stock valve body, if you know how to do it on your own you can buy the transgo kit, if not you pay GTM to install the transgo kit and re-install it back into your car which is the GTM VB Upgrade
I have the GTM VB Upgrade and TQ converter, I did mine actually 2 weeks right after I got my SC in, no point in waiting, unless you're in a budget then you can wait. But it's a have to in opinion to do those 2 atleast, if anything the Stg 3 GTM Transmission upgrade is the best bank for the bucks.
If you don't have a tranny cooler thats a must right away if you're 5AT.

Does the TransGo upgrade increase the line pressure? I wonder if it's the same as the SGP valve body.
