There is a reason it is called a turbo timer...not a supercharger timer. Superchargers and belt driven...unlike turbos can't really adjust the timing of the supercharger.

yeah, but that has nothing to do with the oil getting baked and ruining a turbo.
The vortech doesn't need a turbo timer anymore than the engine needs one. Just don't run the car real hard then suddenly shut it off. There's a reason road course tracks let you do cool down laps.
I guess if you're going to run the car hard on the street then just shut the car off within 20 seconds of going WOT, then ok get a turbo timer I guess if you're unwilling to wait a minute and let the oil circulate some before you turn the car off yourself

That's a good question and would like to know myself. How does it affect the auto locking feature? If your car is running you can not lock the doors. Can you by pass this? And if you can bypass it, it kinda takes away the safety of locking your doors with your keys in the ignition too...

if that were the case, all cars would need a 'turbo timer'. alot of ricers usually have it mounted in a place where all can see. even though i have a turbocharged car, i didnt want the extra module so i bought an alarm that had a timer built in. all of this is my opinion. when i had a supercharged gs-r i never gave a 'turbo timer' a second thought.

dude wtf why is this thread still up hahaha, fvck a turbo timer for a SC, if you have a turbo, sure go for it, even then you can be cheap and do it manually hahaha
If you have a SC, don't do it it's a waste of money, sh*t i dont even think its possible, and even if it is, why da hell would someone want to do it..

The entire purpose of a turbo timer is to let the oil going into the TURBO circulate and cool down before shutting off the car and having it bake on the internals of the TURBO. hence why it is called a TURBO timer and not a supercharger timer. As already stated, superchargers are belt driven and dont have an oil source flowing through them, therefore, there is no need for a timer. End of Story, stop posting arguments in this dumb a$$ thread...
