fi kits that have the option of with or without cats...whats the difference than the obvious cat issue ? power difference ? install difference ?

 

If you are looking for big power....using the cats will cause alot of heat robbing you of power. If you are looking for less than 450 whp ...I dont see a problem using cats. High Flow cats would be my choice if I had to use them.

 

so there really is no difference in the setups other than the actual cats themselves...without is probably better if there is a possibility of going big power

I was told you should get a little quicker spool of the turbos if you are using test pipes.

 

Well after about 6 months of the greddy twins they burnt up my stock cats with more smoke then i have ever seen come out of an exhaust before.The burnt out cats have ruined my borla exhaust and the smell is awful.I am now running test pipes and soon a greddy tic exhaust.

 

I am running test pipes and it makes a huge difference in power. I picked up another 20rwhp. I had HF cats before.

 

Test pipes FTW! Faster spool and more power.

I prefer my turbo with cat...

 

i have a 3.5" downpipes that can fit over some people's heads.. stock cats will not release backpressure efficiently. testpipes will make your car reek like hell, but all worth it.

 

I had 3.5" test pipes....but the smell and noise was too much so put the stock cats back on.

Im sure I lost some power but I couldn't really tell the difference driving.

 

its up to a 20whp difference from stock cats to straight pipes.. confirmed by a bunch of tunners (they all screamed "test pipes" at me when I asked them the same question haha)

 

I had HF cats and burnt through them in about 4 months
