^+1....I am building a motor as well and I'm from up North so there are'nt many renowed shops up here. I've spoken with a few shops here on the boards and have gotten nothing but damn good and solid information.

Cams, gears, springs, retainers
Intake manifolds & 2nd t-body
Pulley kit

Oil pan
Radiator & hoses
Turbo kit

I would recommend utec or fcon, then also no need for a second throttle body. I would say that you start with the greddy kit, build the motor. I know people that have 500 with no head work, oil pan spacer, fuel retuen, bigger injectors, cooling mods, exhaust, good solid tune
The whole dependable will be in the tune, that is why I suggested the different managments the fcon if you can afford it, then utec.
what turbo kit did you plan on using???

Def go to Performance Factory, they record is outstanding and they have plenty of 600+rwhp under their belts
from his budget sounds like $$$ is not too big of a deal
so i say go w/ haltech as the EMS
i would talk to Jeremy, he can tell you exactly what you need for maximun reliability

There is A LOT to be said for keeping it local. Most shops will outsource a 5AT build to either GTM (CA) or SGP (TX). They ship the whole transmission with TC attached. I can vouch for the GTM-5AT. It is an awesome upgrade.
I went with Sharif and ForgedPerformance (I live in NC) and I 100% vouch that he stands behind his work (even if some parts are outsourced like my 5AT was - I was worried about that). He will not let you down - guaranteed. And most shops will give you a discount for big builds, by the way.
Being local to your builder is golden. Keep in mind that with all the upgrades, the chances of something going wrong are higher than usual. It's just the nature of the beast and not a reflection of any single shop (techs are just human after all
). My car was completely redone: engine, brakes, suspension, 5AT, EMS (Haltech), etc. I know.
You won't be able to just drop the car off at your local dealer anymore and pick up a loaner - lol! The tech at the dealer will open the hood and be like WTF? Keep that in mind.
One big factor in favor of FP is their ForgedPerformance short block. I was very impressed with the track record they put out when I was building a year and a half ago and my UOA on the newly built engine shows very little wear with age, no oil consumption, no contaminants, and its running strong. Check eagletangreen's post over on my350z, documenting how well his FP shortblock has tolerated the abuse. I would not try to mix/match vendors (products from one, services from another) as then the finger pointing will commence if something goes wrong.
The other thing you should know about FP and Sharif is that he is very conservative. He will not push a tune if he doesn't think its safe no matter how much you complain you want more power out of it. I know.
He prides himself on his perfect track record for tunes, so I can't blame him. I've heard JT is more willing to explore the cutting edge of performance, but I'm sure he can tune it conservatively if you ask him to. Just be careful because as a customer it's easy to just keep pushing to get more for your money... PM me if you want more details.
Good luck.

Go to PERFORMANCE FACTORY!!!!!!!!!!!! They're the best in your state in my opinion. As for Cali? If you want to ship your car to Cali to have it done, then GTM ftw!!! Only gtm can touch my car, proven best vq specialists around here
Well that changes that. Kamal34 was one of the first to go FI.
You used to recommed them highly. Hope everything is ok with the car now - I remember you had some electrical issues a while back, but I thought you got it sorted.
