question about turbocharger

Will any turbocharger work on any car? Or does it have to be a specific turbocharger on a specific car?

I tried looking for the answer on google and other places but I couldn't find anything.

No.....no.....no.....no.......ahhhhhhh.

No,
Technically, you could bolt just about any turbo to any car if you had the time to route plumbing. You don't want to do that though. You want a turbo that has the impeller and exhaust housings rotated in the proper positions, the oil feed/coolant feed lines in a place where routing is simple, and most of all, you want it to fit where you want to put it. Don't go cheap if you plan on boosting your car. Get a system that was designed from our car. I hope you don't plan on buying your buddies OEM turbo out of his STi/EVO/SRT-4 or whatever car because he/she just upgraded.

are you talking about just the turbocharger by itself? if so, i think they are universal but some might not be as effective as others (i.e size)

correct me if im wrong.

Aah i c that was helpful.

Well the question came up because my RICH A$$ friend just got a turbocharged RangeRover sport for his 18th... loolll

at first we were joking around. i told him to give me his turbocharger and he told me that he would literally give it to me if it would fit on my G..

btw i have a 04 5AT G35. Few mods like a intake and 1/2" MD spacer.

We were joking around but in the end we got serious...hah..

well my guess is.. his turbocharger isnt worth more than the turbocharger you are gonna get wit a nice kit.. and your gonna have to buy a kit if your gonna turbocharge the G (unless you're good wit fabricating your own parts)

oooh so it comes with the kit and everything? haha and here i thought you had to buy them seperately..

but i kno that im not going to be spending that much for a mod anytime soon...

im just slowly making my way up through the little things.

whats a good choice for a new mod after installing a plenum spacer and an intake?

I'm about 103.63% sure that they are Supercharged.

o ya,

It'll be much much more difficult to retrofit that supercharger to your G. You are going to need some crazy Monster Garage maching skills to do that one.

as powerful as google is I don't think it will answer your questions. That's what we are here for! I hope you don't think I'm being an as, I'm really trying to help you out.

Vortech, Stillen, HKS, and others make supercharger kits for our cars.

This is your bible for the next three hours:

Stillen calls their different packages "stages". Each higher stage puts out more power.

I hear so many people saying "I have a stage 2 turbo". This is stupid b/c there is no such thing as a stage 2 turbo. Do you have a Garrett T25, T28, GT35....? Drives me nuts. Different kits will have different options. Fuel injectors, Intercoolers, turbo sizes, there's many different configs that will give you different power outputs.
