G35 Egine Removal Question

I have a question for the people who have pulled their engines for a rebuilt or TT install. Did you pull the engine for the top or lowered it out the bottom? Why did you decide to take the route you did?

Out the bottom.

You can keep the motor attached to the full steering rack and it comes right out.

Done it twice on my car.

Plus if you have a lift you support the motor on jack stands and lift the car right up. Then drop the car right back down when you are done. It will line right back up.

Here is how we do it..we built a special rack to facilitate this. But you could use pallets or whatever.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/67BCKVwtXaw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/67BCKVwtXaw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Pull the radiator and core support out, takes about 1 hr for that. Can have the rest of the engine unhooked and ready to go in 2-3 hours, real fast.

With a lift - out the bottom
Without a lift - from the front

Neither is that difficult

Just to confirm,

So if I will be doing this in my garage with no lift I will want to go out the front after removing all the braces and stuff in the front that are in the way?

And, to all the people that did DIY installs on their TT kits, did you pull it out completely or just enough to have easier access to install the kit?
