new turbo build (numbers are in)
I just started a twin-turbo build up on my mostly stock '04 6mt. I'm the original owner it's got about 34k miles on it. It still drives like it's brand new, no complaints at all...however I'm starting to get tired of being slapped around by all the GTO's and G8's around here.
So far all that's been done is a baseline dyno run, however work is going to begin very soon.
My goal is 400WHP, and we're pretty confident about reaching it.
Comments/suggestions welcome!!

400whp on a TT kit will be no problem. Should be 7-9psi range which is safe with a good tune. I ran my stock block at 405/399 for a year before I decided to go for more and build the motor.
Just read your list in your link.
You will have no problem getting your power from that setup. I would consider going with lower wastegate springs/actuators and getting a boost controller so if needed you can run extra safe and have some control.

Have them at least run the vacuum lines now because it is a pain later.
If you can't put another couple hundred $ in you may want to hold off until you have more budget.

That makes sense.
The only issue with DIY later will be that the system will need to be installed and tuned at wastegate pressure so if you are going to do it later you will have to choose to go with lower power/boost for now and a re-tune later or just get it close to target power with wastegate pressure and not have the option to turn it down later.

Got it. Why would I want to turn down the boost anyways? The guys at the shop are telling me it should be very easy to drive as-is...lots of low end torque so I won't need to rev it up very much with city driving.
I thought the main reason for a boost controller is to be able to turn it up past what the stock wastegates are set at. I wouldn't really want to do that anyways with stock internals...keep in mind this is my own interpretation, not what the shop told me =)

Good luck, hope the shop treats you well and everything goes as planned.
Try and get pics and videos when you can (maybe they will take pics for you).
We are picture ****** here and a thread like this without pictures is likely to get you flamed. :-)

I promise I'll make it more interesting hehe
I liked to be able to turn mine down below 8psi when my block was stock for summer time and if anyone else drove my car. The Greddy kit came with 5.5psi wastegate springs so it was an easy choice for me. I had to either buy springs or a boost controller. You don't have to get one and/or the other right now so I do see your point.
