Exclamation GT Motorsports: Project: "U.A.E. 240Z" VQ35HR Transformation

This car made its was down here all the way from the U.A.E. We are excited to be able to preform this swap on a classic such as the 240Z. This is going to be an N/A build with a completely stock VQ35HR.

Classic looks and the reliability of a modern engine was the goal with this car, we can't wait until it's complete!

Below are some pictures of the progress, enjoy!

cool, you should check out Hybridz.org there are currently 2 VQ powered 240z being built on that site right now. Both of them are on the road already and are just getting some details worked out, awesome cars. These powerplants fit absolutely perfectly into the 240 chassis.

Those are not 240Z tail lights. 240Z tail light clusters included reverse light (one piece). This Z looks like early 260Z ('74) with custom fenders and 240 bumpers, just to name a few. Looking forward to updates.

I see you had it on the Dyno, what were the numbers of the original motor?

Hey there, found your thread, I'm also working on a VQ35HR on Hybridz, though I'm keeping it on a low budget. There's a lot to it, but if you're willing to collaborate I'm there on Hybridz. I saw you've read the other 2 VQ swaps. I hope you've followed the advice they gave, it's very good. Especially the part about getting as complete an Engine and tranny w/ harnesses and ECU/BCM etc. The HR engines need to have the key assy too because they're using a more sophisticated NATS system. The Gauges will be helpful too, though the Speedo we haven't worked out how to use the stock stuff yet. Send me a PM on Hybridz, since I don't get back here that often...

Oh and your Z looks like a 74-79, if you can tell us the VIN we can identify it.

Good Luck
