OK, you certainly did it right, i was not aware of the setup. TS can correct this in a jiffy. However, something must have changed since the initial tune. I would do a full 24 hour battery disconnect, and then examine your a/f. the aem a/f gauge is a very cost-effective and accurate way to go (I've got this and cannot imagine running the car without it. Let me know if this is what you're looking for, I got it from a very good source for very little money (relatively).

A battery disconnect i would definitely do!

Your setup is the ONLY way IMO to make the ATI very safe (and of course extract more power). DFMU has not been as reliable as one would wish (and need). Full fuel return system is THE way to go as far as fuel systems are concerned.

After you investigate your new a/f with an aem a/f gauge, you can tell Danny exactly what/where to richen up. Good luck

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

G,

Enlighten me my brother! I have been looking at/for gauges for about an hour now and I'm frustrated. I like the AEM a/f guage, but I want my gauges to match and they don't seem to make a boost gauge. Do you have a boost gauge and if so what? Where are yours mounted? Any other gauges you think I should get while I'm at it?

As far as something changing I totally agree with you, something HAD to have changed for me to lose as much HP as I did. I'm not sure if you read my Easy ECU Reset results, but I knocked off .5 seconds from my 1/4 mile time after the reset, so I think that helped quite a bit. Unfortunately for me the place that dynos my car is pissed that I had Crawford do the work and they are raping me on dyno charges (Over $250 in one week for 4 runs). So, going back there isn't cost effective. I am going to do the gauges this weekend hopefully and then I can dyno baseline only for a lot cheaper. Its always something....

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

Well ... actually here is my setup:

...just kidding

don't have a picture of both gauges in place, just the aem gauge:

At present, the boost gauge sits above the aem, with the aem of course lowered a bit to make room for the boost gauge). I also used $13 universal 52mm gauge rings to attach the gauges to the side of the dash there. The boost gauge is a mechanical Defi D-gauge 52mm (in PSI units). It works great, except that it's scale goes up to 35 (which I will NEVER need). I wish I could find as good looking of a gauge with a 15psi (or even 20-25) scale to have more resolution.

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

I'm getting the 30-4211 from John at SoCal Motorsports for around $395 shipped, and they take credit cards and paypal!

(I bought my Borla headers and Procharger from SoCal Motorsports too, John is awesome)

I can't wait to get it in.

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

Don't waste your money on an A/F gauge. They are worthless. They get there info from the stock O2 sensor. which is crap. The only way is to get a wideband. Otherwise don't blow your money!

So where can I find a WIDEBAND A/F sensor and gage? I'll buy it!

hey sniper... the way things work around here is that when you bash something someone is using, and tell them to do something else, you should at least provide a link, image and product recommendations so that people can follow up on your constructive input.

That's the way we help each other out.

Cheers, ted

The AEM 30-4211 is an Air / Fuel guage, a Bosch UEGO sensor, a single channel UEGO controller. It reads and displays your actual A/F at any given time. I purchased mine from SoCal Motorsports (John).

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

your a dork shut-up! Even though I was not bashing a product, what exactly is wrong with that? If it were not for real tuners and people that have blazed trails, we would all believe the hype that companys blow out their ****! Gain 25hp with these 50 spark plugs, and whatnot.

I was merely giving the guy some advice on standard A/f gauges. They are great for ricers that want their dashes to be light up. And have bouncing light. KPierson has eluded that AEM unit is wideband, then he is good to go. But there are only a few wideband units out there that I know of. Coming from the turbo DSM world I'd say I know a little tiny bit about tuning. Widebands still aren't "widely" used by everyday tuners. That's why we made our own long before you could go out and purchase one. And many of us use and used pyrometers before we could find a cheap 5 wire UEGO sensor. Hint, Napa and Civic!
Anytime you goto a dyno, a wideband is what they'll use. But even then the numbers are slightly off because of the placement of the tip.

FYI: here is a little info from AEM:

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

Sniper,

In my hours and hours of research I only found but a few wideband systems. AEM makes one that I thought was very affordable, so thats why I bought it. It uses a Bosch sensor, not as precise as the NTK? sensor but a fraction of the cost and good enough for my everyday street use. Also, the AEM loooks really nice.

kp-

thas the one to get bro....

i am waiting on mine till the triple pod is finished, but sdtrongly recommend it. I'd also see if your tuner could use that to tune the car, rather than the modified readings they get from the exhaust tips...

good choice

Re: Procharged Dyno Results

I don't want a pod, I want my car to look as stock as possible. I'm going to be mounting my a/f and boost gauge (if I ever find one I like) in my center console armrest pocket right by my DVD player. It won't be viewable at all times, but it will be there for reference when you need it.

Keep in mind that my tuner is Technosquare. That might making tuning a little more difficult. I am sending my ECU to them this Monday and they will add more fuel up top to help fix my problem. When I get the ECU back I'll throw in the A/F stuff and check it out.

If you haven't bought it yet contact John @ SoCalMotorsports and he'll hook you up with the best price I have seen, $395 shipped. He is a great person to do business with, I buy all my parts through him (Borla headers, Procharger, AEM)

What are you waiting on Es, get your car done already!
