I agree (assuming the motor is built right.)

That will be the final determining factor!

With 600cc injectors I hit 95% IDC sometimes running only 10psi 381whpDD. That is on stock fuel system with just a walbro. Going with a FRS and retune soon.

That's because your base fuel pressure is too low, you can modify your fuel pump assembly to increase the pressure.

We have made over 500rwhp with the HR engine and this method on our turbo system, with a Walbro pump and 600cc injectors.

A return fuel system is always a good idea though.

If you don't mind mild hot start issues, get 1000cc injectors, skip the RFS and call it a day.
If his fuel pressure is not adequate due to overly restrictive fuel lines, he will have low fuel pressure at the injectors when pushing the motor hard. Atomization may become an issue.

Moreover, without a fuel return system, his fuel pressure won't be stable when going on and off the throttle at high boost pressures/rpms, which may create more problems. If he just throws in huge injectors, I doubt he will be able to maintain consistent AFR's under these conditions, which he obviously is concerned with, as he should be.

IMO, getting an appropriate fuel return system is a bigger issue than getting bigger injectors at this point. Obviously, if he can do both, great. If not, start with the fuel return system.

I just bought a used aam stage 1 off my350z Ive had my eyes on. When I install it, I guess I will double check all of my fuel basket and see what I did wrong. I thought I did everything right.

Obviously he's got to make sure his FP is okay, and changing both is better but assuming his pump is in working order he should be fine. RFS and keeping 440's vs 1000cc's an nothing else, which is better? After about 15 lbs then a RFS is necessary but having only a RFS without bigger injectors will do him no good if all he wants more than 10 lbs.... which I'm betting he will .

Trust me, 1000cc's on our returnless stock systems will work fine, just hot starts will be terrible at times.

I'd say Jtrain 2 options, 6-800cc injectors with RFS, or 1000cc's with nothing else will both do the job, the RFS with 6-800cc is better, but costs alot more. Either way, he's got to upgrade .

I appreciate everyone's input. You can tell Terry has spent a lot of time with Roger.

I ended up buying Terry's old set up- 750cc with a CJM stage 2 return (which I honestly Don't know what all that entails, but I know I got a great deal )

I'm assuming that has new rails in it, which would be great.. Mixed up with big *** injectors. I shouldn't have much of a starting problem (I'm using the IS, not the VPRO-- it doesn't adjust for injector size according to roger).

I'd love to run 500wheel!! but my tranny would go on strike

5at ftl :/

EDIT: Terry, I hear you live on the same street my parents do / I used too

I don't know how we manage to never run into each other???

I'll bet your parents are on the North end of the street, because I know everyone on the South end (I have been in the same house for 16 years). I'll bet you know my oldest son. I'm guessing he is around your age. I'll send you a PM.

FYI, I know a tuner (not Roger) that lives two blocks away from me in Paddock. I don't want to get you going on that topic, so we'll leave it at that. Also, Roger's sister lives just around the corner from me.

WOW, what a small world.

Definitely a seriously small word. I know Jack lives around the corner. I try and forget that- Though I'd love to repay the huge favor he's done for me.

We've been there for about the same amount of years. I don't know your son though >.<

Anyway. Fuel system problem is over, thanks to you!

You look like your heading in the right direction with the purchase of larger injectors and FRS.

Somehow I do not have an FRS in my car, it never came up in my build and after all the miles I have put on it seems I am doing fine with just the larger injectors.
