Well despite the several emails sent into cyberspace sharif "never head of the deadline" and now i'll be home again in a god damn mazda 6 rental car for a month vacation from baghdad. This is my 4th repeat of this by the way. I am going to sit in this POS and rev it until it catches on fire then claim it on my insurance. Advice to myself 2 years back... buy a ZR-1 and get it over with.

there are delay's left and right but it seems like every single one puts me at the very end of the forged line. it's just always something, i'm also in iraq so no phone calls and apparently half of my emails don't ever make it to forged, funny because i get return receipts and haven't had a problem so far.

Well everything was all set up to have the car completed by halloween then days before i come home i'm emailing sharif just to quadruple check everything out and he drops a bomb on me. "this is the first time i've heard of your deadline and it's impossible" Well not according to 6 different email strings that i of course have saved... I'm obviously extremely heated but what am i to do. It's been 7 months since i gave it to him for the turbo rebuild and not i'm stuck in atlanta with no car and no way home to florida. Of course he has his shop shut down for a trip out to cali with the new gtr, glad to see he's not affected by the economy (sure is getting plenty of my money). Well this all takes place on the 2nd of november and as of 8 december he's still trying to track down an issue with the "nats security system" that's preventing the car from firing up. I'm not sure how you guys deal with this stuff, time is money to me and i've got piles of both wrapped up in this with no results at all except countless "i almost have it"'s

I have another question for the mechanical guru's out there... I have a drz400sm super motard that i'm building (myself from now on) and i was reading the mototune breakin method http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm and it sounds pretty logical. My question is after my build longblock from forged took a **** at 40 miles it was rebuilt by sharif again (to the tune of about 12k, no help from forged either). I of course have the email saved where i the customer asks the Subject matter expert (sharif) if my turbo's will need to be rebuilt since all the bearings were bad. Well he replies no they're good, he wraps the car up and goes to break it in on the dyno and it's burning oil like it's a diesel drag car. He gives me the car for 2 weeks and i put 1000 miles on it with about a quart of oil every gas tank. Do you think this will effect the ring seating and i can't imagine those pistons look good at all? Do you think some kind of seafoam method is in order?

the oil burning was from blowby on the turbo's and that's why the car is back in the shop, new turbo's. I've asked sharif if he intends on covering the labor because i asked him about this while the motor was out which would have prevented the additional 4k in labor. no reply...

Fascinating read, and well written. You should post the complete story over on my350z.com.

Scout felt the turbos were too laggy for what he wanted to do with the car, so we told him we'd swap them out for a brand new pair of Greddy 18G turbos on charge. Tried and tested was the way to go. Live and learn.
