Once you have upgraded your Injector and fuel pump then all those number are thrown out of the window. Trust me, there is now way in HELL you will increase your MPG when boosting. It just defy logic!! First you are pumping more Air, second you are running Rich in fuel at around mid to low 11:1. If you are cruising and not boosting then you make keep the same MPG but that reading is way off because your injector and fuel pump is a lot bigger.

I'm running 400cc injectors and a Walbro 255 fuel pump.

When I'm hard on the throttle, I see the same if not worse MPG. At cruising speeds (55-80), my MPG has jumped 10+.

Scaling for larger injectors messes with the ecu's ability to calculate mpg. I see no way possible for your car to average 39mpg....heck...my brothers 06 Toyota Corolla would average that over 100% highway driving on a manual tranny running 40psi on the tires with the stock 1.8L engine on a car that weighs about 800lbs less than a G.

What you have to do is fill your gas tank till you can't fill it anymore, reset the odometer, drive about 100 miles or so, refill again and calculate from there.

Gallons in Fill #2 divided by 100 miles = your mpg. If you can average 39mph in a highway drive, then you'd be the first to be able to do over 700 miles on a single tank..lol.

/\ +1 That is the only way to calculate MPG when you have change injector/fuel pump. I bet you once you do a manual calculation that you wont be smiling anymore.

/\ I live in NY and has driven my car in the snow (Went through 2 Winter Season already). RWD + Boost dont hold up well so that is a bad combo regardless what kit you have. My car is not DD because I work in the City but I always drive drive it in the weekend.

it is a bad for any kit yes, but it might be even worst with a STS since the kit is only a couple of inches from snow...

i had the sts kit on my car and really i had the worse experience possible. its costed me so much money for no reason just a lot of lag and not even good numbers. i even strait piped it to the turbo for quicker response and stand alone ecu. i thought the system would work and eventually i made it work and made the power at the bare minimum that i wanted and it sounded amazingly loud and impossible to live with. and if all of that wasnt enough the oil pump will pump either not enough oil back to the engine from the turbo or flud the turbo with oil and im sure it would last for a few seasons but you will have turbo trouble down the road.

i loved the kit wen i first got it even tho it boosted late. the kit is a good kit as individual parts but turbo needs heat and the kit comes with a really good turbo just its in the wrong place. the intercooler is really small i do have to say. i loved the idea but if you actually want performance a single big turbo at the front will do wonders thats why the fastest Gs run single big turbos but really you can get over 500whp out of any kit with a built motor but ever since the sts costed me about 15k CDN i really wished i went with a powerlab or something big and powerfull like that or even a z1 motor with a custom single turbo kit.

now i have the sts kit currently mounted in the front of the car with upgraded return fuel lines and upgraded oil lines/ 640cc injectors and upgraded fuel rail. my car has been at the shop for awhile now all summer without a car just cuz of that kit.

on a side note i would do an injector duty cycle test and if it passes 80% i would recommend increasing in size and also plug the air breether back to the oil pan.

that just me tho i really hope you have more luck then me! i tryed to be unique more then anything and i was the first in canada with the system and it backfired on me. now im not going to question everyone that said turbo belongs in the front and close to the heat!

That is normal... never trust the navi.. Even when I was NA I average 19-20mpg on a freeway and about 17-18 mix driving. With a turbo cruising seem to be the same but when on boost I see my mpg as low as 12mpg.
