intercooler vs turbo

Hey question,
If I bought the Greddy TT Kit w/o the intercooler, and bought the intercooler thats on the PE kit, would I still loose my bumper or could I mix and match them to keep it. Thanks!

Re: intercooler vs turbo

you can use the greddy turbo kit with the PE intercooler and still keep the bumper impact beam but you will have to modify the piping

Re: intercooler vs turbo

The way the piping is designed on the greddy kit is that both pipes coming from the turbos go into the greddy intercooler to there own inlet, and on the PE kit the pipes that come from the turbo are Y together and only go into 1 inlet on the PE intercooler. So you would have to modify the pipes on the greddy kit to go into the 1 inlet on the PE intercooler.

Re: intercooler vs turbo

How much work would it probably be though, and do you guys know if anybody has tried this. Because I think the most logical thing would be to do that because that bumper brace is so darn important. If you made a custom tube, or even grabed one off PE and stated that the old one was broken or something, wouldnt that work? Thanks once again.

Re: intercooler vs turbo

um, you might be better off just buying the PE kit... it's 10x better anyways... ball-bearing turbos baby! But seriously, the extra labor/materials that are going to be involved in custom fabricating the piping would probably offset the price difference (and the average time to install the GReddy is ridiculous - 25-30 hrs?!?!?) IMO the PE kit is a better overall choice...
