cog pulley more boost?

i just went to the 2.87 pulley on my vortech and am hoping to see around 430rwhp. But i heard you could get 500 out of the vortech by changing the cog pulleys also, so i was wondering if i did that would it be safe and what other mods would i have to do to support it?

You shouldn't go over 400whp unless you have a built motor, and you definitely will need a built motor for anything 430whp+.

Canadian is correct in saying that anthing over 400 you should worry about longevity of the motor... However if you did build the motor it accept bigger power, you need to use the calculator on the vortech's website to make sure you are not exceding the impeller speed the blower was rated for.

Just curious, but what speed is the blower rated for?

yea i fully rebuilt the motor with all forged parts. I did this so i could add more boost with the 2.87, and just wanted to know it it would make a big difference and if it is safe to add different ratio cog pulleys also.

Upgrade to the T-trim blower and get a larger FMIC, you may also want to look in to the GTM pulley setup if you don't have it already. Hopefully you have large enough injectors to support the extra fuel your going to require.

u wont make 500 with the sc trim.

I have the only T trim without upgraded cog setup or nitrous to get it over 500whp with the 2.87 pulley (12psi). I am now in the process of going down to a custom 2.60 pulley (yes 2.60) in hopes to gain +3 extra psi (20whp/psi). Yes, I know i'll be over-spinning the blower (by 5500) but it will only be secs until it hits 7000 rpm. Also, u wont really be over-spinning the blower to it's max bc there will always be slippage through the serp belt, therefore, u will never reach the max potential rate whp of 800.

GL to the OP

It's a larger blower. Just google pics of it and you will see the difference.
