Vortech Set-up - Injectors and Pump

I just purchased a V-3 Vortech Supercharger for my 2004 6MT Sedan. I already have Uprev Osiris so i plan on using that and having a pro-tuner do the tuning.

Anyways, I spoke with Jared over at Uprev and he recommended not installing the supplied Vortech Fuel Pump and FMU and instead upgrading the fuel pump and fuel injectors.

Anyways, I was planning on going with a Walbro 255lph Fuel pump and DW injectors. However, i'm not sure what size injectors to go with.

Can anyone recommend what size injectors would be a good upgrade at least for an entry level set-up. (Like something 350-400whp)?

Also, are there any disadvantages with using fuel injectors too large?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks
Dan

I think the standard injectors for that set are 380cc?! Correct me if im wrong. Honestly for 350 hp i wouldnt think you would need bigger injectors, especially with a tune. If you were to upgrade your injectors though, i would probably do the next size up. You mentioned DW, i believe there next step up would be 440CC. That would probably be your best bet!

I would go with dw600 and the walbro255 so you have a bit of growth left. If you do the 440's and ever want to go to the smaller pulleys like a 2.87 you will be sorry.

Great info.

Think i'll go with the DW600's and Walbro 255.

Now, i guess the next question is that if i install this at home, then is it safe to drive an hour away to the tuner's on a stock ECU program.

Reading the 350z Vortec thread now so maybe there is more information there.

Thanks
Dan

Some people install the Vortech but leave the belt off I believe so you're not boosting at all. Once you get to the shop, install the belt and get tuned.

Actually its not so much the Vortech, but the injectors. You can't ride on them (without a new tune) for too long or you will foul up your plugs, etc... or even clog up your stock cat if you're still running that.

^^ Everyone is correct...as always. Walbro and 600cc injectors.

You will not be able to drive with the new pump and injectors without a tune. Your car will run like a go car...but worse. My AF's were below 8:1.

Best of luck.

Your car will run with a walbro 255 fuel pump and DW 600cc injectors. I had both items installed at Technosquare in Socal about 2 hours before my car was dyno tuned. Brwn5454 is correct though - you will run rich so you don't want to drive around too much before the tune.
