Vortech Installed - How to get safely to tuner . . .

Have a bit of dilemma . . .

I'm installing my Vortech V-3 SC, some DW600 injectors, and a new Walbro, and will need to get the car to my local tuner which is about an hour away.

Besides paying big bucks to lug this out on a flatbed tow truck, whats the safest way to drive the vehicle to the tuner using the stock ECU tune. Jared at Osiris said he could provide me a rough base tune just to get it to the tuners, but said it would run like crap.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Someone else mentioned that you could simply run the OEM belt and not have the SC running and go NA to the tuner.

With my procharger I left the belt off and had my tuner install the utec, injectors and belt once I got there. I had a 6 hour drive so I wanted to make sure that everthing ran smooth and safe.

Thats what i'm going to do. Talked to the tuner today. I'll install everything, but leave the SC belt off and also the fuel injectors. I'll just install the SC ans fuel pump and let the tuner do the rest.

I installed the same parts your installed...let me give you a bit of advice.

Put it on a trailer to Austin. Your car will be DUMPING fuel and will not make it up there without ruining your spark plugs. My A/F's never got above 9:1 when I installed the 600cc injectors, Walbro and Vortech BEFORE THE TUNE...this said, do not try to drive it to Jared.

PM me if you have any other questions....make sure you tell Jared to bump your idle to around 800-900...NOT 700-750, the idle isn't smooth there. (I know because thats where he set mine.)

You got fuel injectors in there? Forget it! Tow it! I learned the hard way! Couldn't make it and had 2 get it towed LOL

Got the fuel pump installed today. That was a piece of cake.

Also installed some LED lights in the Clearance light locations today as well. I have to say that was probably the hardest thing (or rather pain in the ****) i ever did with that car. Geesh!

Regarding install before tuner, i'm only installing the supercharger and the fuel pump.

The tuner (which is JTune in Wilmington, DE) will be installing the fuel injectors and the belt onto the SC, so i'll basically be driving a stock NA car to the tuner.

towing is nice, but you can run 600cc injectors just fine with the stock ecu. I drove almost 400 miles just like that when my UTEC shorted out. JUst gotta be light on the gas.
