I'm also so glad you know me. What an ignorant thing to say. I've been around here for quite sometime and seen/read a lot of things. Guessed you missed my history of being a technician for Infiniti for 2 years... And just like you don't know everything there is to know about a VQ.

Utec dont control valve timing.. it control the ignition..
Almost but not quite.. Piggyback? Yes... there is no full standalone for our car.. HKS,Haltech, Pro-efi are still consider a piggyback because it is not a full replacement for our ECU. They all piggyback to our ECU but they are a standalone because they have full control on anything that relates to your engine running. Utec dont modify the ECU values but instead it actually take full control of the ignition and injector just like a standalone when on boost.

From the TurboXS website:
Is the UTEC a piggy-back computer or a stand alone engine management system?
The UTEC is a really a bit of both. It acts as a stand alone system in that it gives you complete control over ignition timing and boost. Fuel control, however, is piggy-backed off the factory ECU. The UTEC allows you to modify the MAF voltage, giving you the ability to control Air/Fuel ratios and to run larger than stock injectors. The factory ECU is also used to manage some of the more mundane functions that are necessary to keep a car drivable on a daily basis. Some examples are cold start, hot start, acceleration fueling and closed loop fuel control. With future software upgrades available free from TurboXS, the UTEC will eventually allow complete control over fueling allowing the user to eliminate the Mass Air Sensor.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. OP's main question is still about the problems that can arise from a used FI G. He asked about the UTEC, I gave a very generalized overview as what the UTEC does specifically is not really a major issue right now. If OP wants to know more about the UTEC he can look it up. In the end, the UTEC is not an issue on this G35 he is talking about if tuned correctly.
Lol you have some serious issues. You can be sarcastic, but when others are sarcastic towards you you can't take it? I was trying to make a joke, much like you were, from another thread where some guy kept asking you what year of law you were in and you kept saying you weren't. Again... just adding to the sarcasm. Glad you can dish it, but not take it.

Now I get why you were making that "lawyer comment". Previous post edited.

Hugs and Kisses. LOL! No problem, man. I thought you'd catch it... but know this is a big site and its easy to forget all the **** that's posted here, haha! See ya on the flip side. Since we quoted each other anyway... we'll just leave 'em up for ****s and giggles.
So I was wondering is their any danger in buying this car? Its an automatic, but was wondering if the turbocharger can effect the engine or put any stress on the car? I don't wanna buy this thing and then have to dump a bunch of cash into it all the time. Also any1 know what UTEC is?
P.s. I posted this in the G35 discussion section but realised there was an FI section ;-)
No kidding. It's common sense. When you're extracting more power from an engine, i.e. forcing more air into it, of course you'll be putting more stress on an engine. Add to the fact that our G's didn't come FI'd from the factory. If done right, FI'd engines can last a long time, but it will definitely have more stress on it than a non-FI'd engine.
Agreed! if you must ask, then the real answer is always NO. People always know the answer, yet tries to find a way to try to convince themself otherwise! Remind me of the mortgage crisis..
