Greddy Twins, which exhaust?

I've been looking around for weeks trying to figure out which exhaust to go with for my build. I've gone from Exoticspeed with motordyne XYZ-Y pipe and HFCs to a complete Motordyne TDX system, back to Exoticspeed's new true dual setup. I haven't gotten a solid answer in which setup to go with so far whether true dual is the way to go or y-pipe with another exhaust.

If anyone has any suggestions please help!!

Thanks

I'm no expert but why would you not go dual with a TT setup? You def should go dual

Heres what I don't understand though.

This is considered a true dual exhaust BUT seems like it goes to a Y-pipe I don't understand what true-dual means when it comes to G35 exhaust...

To my knowlege this is considered a dual exhaust

and something like this isnt'

can anyone confirm?

i believe my Greddy EVO2 is a dual exhaust

edit:

if it were my car and i had a TT set up i'd go for
Greddy TIC
or
Motordyne's 3" shockwave exhausts

Not a true dual.

True dual is two pipes from front to back . They usually join somewhere along the way to equalize pressure in each bank.

I don't think the top one would be a true dual because it goes to one pipe. So that would be a bottle neck in the system.

For a TT set up you want flow...that Greddy TIC appears to be 2 to 1 to 2... that may cause some restriction. I cant speak for the motordyne because I have not seen it. The only TD exahust I found was the APS, and the sound is amazing!!

Evo2 is not true dual, as it comes together into a narrow Y. It's considered one of the most restrictive exhausts for forced induction. If you go with Greddy, the one to get is the Evo TiC TT.

To my understanding true dual is 2 completely different pipes start from the headers to the tip, that never intertwine.

+1

Also, what are your HP goals? Some people want a quiet exhaust while some people want it loud. Generally speaking, the higher your HP goal is, the louder the exhaust is going to be; you generally need to go with a larger exhaust system as the HP goal increases to keep the back pressure under control. Nonetheless, even if you are not shooting for high HP, you still can run a loud exhaust.

I originally started with an APS 2.5" exhaust, which in my mind is one of the nicer sounding exhausts in that is a tad bit louder than stock, but appeared to me to have the same tone as stock. When I started shooting to go well beyond 500 whp, it became apparent that I needed something larger, and thus louder. I went with a Greddy Evo TT (2.77" Dia.), which I believe has been replaced by the Greddy Evo TiC TT. Would I like something a little quieter, yes, but then I would have struggled to, and probably would not have met, my HP goals. Overall, I think the Greddy is a good compromise between the sound pressure level and performance.

If you want a loud exhaust, or are shooting for high HP, go with a 3" exhaust system. There are plenty of them out there to choose from. If you want something relatively quiet, and won't be exceeding something around 500 whp, take a look at the APS 2.5" exhaust. You can get a really great deal on these. I sold mine about a year ago and, although it had been installed but never used with the motor fired up (I increased my HP goals while the build was under way), I ended up selling it dirt cheap ($700) to compete with the on-line retailers selling it for less than $900.

Thanks for all the advice fellas. My power goals are 500+ WHP, i'm having a motor built to handle 1000hp but i'm hoping for 600-650WHP hopefully. I will probably do Greddy or Exoticspeeds true dual... if anyone had an opinion on that.

2.5" true dual is good to around 500whp (so I was told when I bought mine). Since my goals on a stock block were no greater than 450whp I prefer the OEM loudness (a little louder actually) and look of a 2.5".

3" true dual w/3" down pipes (or larger) is what you're looking for at your goals. Of course with goals like that I'm sure you've got a shop to help you out anyways.
