That would be the limit of the stock motor. The weakest link is the Connecting rods I believe.

There are several threads in that talk on this issue...

This one talks about it directly...
https://g35driver.com/forums/forced-...ion-noobs.html

This one will give you an Idea of what our motors have handled as far as horsepower on a stock block...

Good luck and post up pics of your build!

HR motor is different.

Rods were upgraded on the REVUP, and then upgraded again for the HR motor.

HR motor will handle 400 whp reliably, no real issues as long as you get tuned right. 550 has been done no problems.

DE and 400 whp is the max you wanna go. REVUP and 450 is tops.

Do you have any links to evidence of revup rods being stronger than non-rev? This is the first I heard of this...AFAIK the only difference was the lower collector and heads.

To the OP: If you want reliable + DD, stay in the 350-380 range.

Revup rods are slightly beefier than non rev; the connecting bolts are stronger too. There was a thread that had actual pictures comparing the two.

Hr's internals are superior to both revup and non rev.

Op, what sc are you considering? The Stillen and GTM Kits are for the vhr, but I do think they are developing a Hr kit, but it hasn't been released yet.

I don't know if there is enough difference in the revup vs non-revup to see enough headroom for more power.

The HR's definately due have stronger rods and bolts. And the VHR's even more.

In my opinion based on what we've seen from stock internal DE's......stick to 400rwhp regardless of revup or non-revup. If you want to take the plunge for more, then build.

500 and I would go with completely built, don't want to blow and engine and end up having to put even more in...

What you need to do is get a built shortblock. It'll have everything you need.

Don't be stupid and do only the rods.

I wasn't gonna go only the rods. My question was " what kind of rods should I go with ? " Then I suggested the Eagle ESP H beans. The rods are the most crucial element in a combustion engine when more HP comes along. The Eagle are cheap but I wasn't sure if they would be good enough, I needed feedback from the Eagle rods maybe somebody in here is running 500+ hp on them...
