Open dumps or no open dumps

Simple poll, wondering on my project should I go open dumps or recirculated wastegate? It's a Greddy twin turbo 18g setup with a built bottom end.

i had open dumps & while it was cool at first, they got very annoying, since they open pretty much whenever you floor it.

I like my open dumps. I got a nice sleeper exhaust note while cruising then when I romp on it people don't know where it's coming from!!

Gonna be hard to get a camcorder (even HD) to capture the true sound

I should have some new sounds up in a few days from some weekend activities.

Open dumps sound like a$$...just my $.02, YMMV. Unless you have a restrictive exhaust or are otherwise shooting for 600whp+, all they are good for is the noise.

plumb the wastegate dumps down at least 18" from the turbos and you shouldn't lose too much power or if any.

The turbo cars I've seen/been in all have open dumps. I cant say which is better but it didn't seem annoying to me. I also saw a Supra here making 800whp on a friends dyno but that was really loud but it was indoors. There is also a local twin turbo HR 350z Auburn Z here with open dumps but that sounds really good at 500+whp.

From a performance view with a good flowing exhaust you will be fine either way less like stated above you shooting for like 600hp. From a sound point of view it's personal choice. I am running a open dump and with my old 2.5inch exhaust which was loud and too small for the setup so running the dump into it was out of the question.

Now I have a 3inch exhaust thats quieter than the old exhaust I can really hear the dump now and will change it.

I think i've decided that I probably won't go open dumps because I was told the twins start spooling at 2000 rpm's so the dumps would be incredibly annoying.
