It does, but thats still a lot of draw on the battery.
The only time I could see that thing being practical is trying to loose a tenth or two at the drag strip.

Um, you guys do know that the Stillen hybrid Altima uses a vortech electric supercharger right? I've always thought if one could have batteries strong enough, it could work. Hybrids obviously have the battery power to support this.
^If our cars had the adequate juice to power one of these constantly, then I probably would have installed something similar to this. Stillen's hybrid, is that turbine capable of continuous operation without killing the batteries?
Honestly, I think the idea behind this is good but most cars today don't have the power requirements. Just imagine how efficient a turbo would be if it was powered by an electric motor.

Vortec's superchargers are basically belt driven turbos. But in this case, it's an electrically driven turbo.
Considering how much amperage it takes to drive the wheels of a car, the power to drive a supercharger shouldn't be that hard to do.
