Re: Nitrous on the G!

Go with the zex wet kit. I seems to be the one that is
the most popular for our car. I have also heard of some guys using NX, but I dont know that much about that kit. Anyhow
good luck.

Re: Nitrous on the G!

so the 75 shot requires nothing else? just the kit? do they make a specific G kit? or do any work well? any good sites? thanks RX

Re: Nitrous on the G!

The basic zex wet kit is good enough for the 75 shot.
for 100 shot you'll need to get other jets...

Re: Nitrous on the G!

whats that thing where the zex opens itself electronically at WOT so that u don't have to and mess up ur engine? is that how it works? whats a window switch, is that where it shuts off when u switch gears?

Re: Nitrous on the G!

there is a throttle position wire that connects to your zex box.that is what makes the n2o turn on only at WOT. The MSD window switch is powered after the zex box is activated by WOT. The window switch turns on/off the n2o at specific RPMs.I dont know about the n2o during shifts, I have an auto. On a manual, you let off the gas which turns the n2o off cause it needs WOT to be on.

Re: Nitrous on the G!

well i have an auto too and i wanted to know when i use the manual shift mode when the switch would kick in, but thanks for the info, i suppose if i were to shift at a certain rpm the switch would turn the N2O off and then turn back on at WOT. Did I get this rite?

Re: Nitrous on the G!

ok,so you flip your switch on.to make the n2o flow, you have to be full throttle.now depending on when you want the n2o on,you can program it to turn on lets say at 1000rpm and turn off at 6000rpm.

Re: Nitrous on the G!

You are going to need new spark, and an MSD Window switch might be a good idea. (Zex even recommended it when I called them)

Check out the the thread I have on here called "let's talk nitrous"

Re: Nitrous on the G!

I can help on any nitrous questions. A buddy and me spent about 7 hours on a custom setup. I even I have some sweet pics, just need photoshop to re-size them to fit here b/c the quality is very high. I am currenlty running a 125 shot putting down 367 to the rear. I managed a 13.017. Thought I was going to hit the 12's.. I will all in time. This was on my 20's. I think I would get a quicker hole shot with my 18's. Oh, and the ECU is stock. No timing changes, just runnin 101 octance when using the Nitrous.. 1 step Iridium IX for the plugs.

I also would like to know all that is necessary to have a safe nitrous setup.

I am looking for a 75-100 shot wet kit activated only at WOT. Approximately how much would this setup run me installed?

Thanks!

To have the right safe set up, with install plan on $1000.00 plus or minus a few bucks.

I have been running Nitrous on almost every car I have owned the past 17 years. Mustangs, Grand National's, Viper, NSX. To date never blown up an engine. Here is a link to the NSX I own right now it has a 100 shot NX wet kit with a few custom items.

http://www.tunerzine.com/articles/20...x/article.html

On my NSX I have a WOT switch run through the TPS sensor, a fuel PSI cut off safety switch, and wired into my horn button (with toggle to go from horn to Nitrous flow button) with a master on and remote bottle opener. I have run 11.2's @121 with the Nitrous on street tires (285 30 18 Potenza SO3's). I have been racing for 15 years and know how to dive my cars, so be careful if it is your first Nitrous experience.
Follow the following rules and you will not break anything. Never run bigger Nitrous jets then what NX, NOS, ZEX recommend. Get on the phone with the Tech department of your Nitrous manufacture and ask them how big of a shot you can run with stock engine, stock fuel pump, ect. Next have a fresh set of 1 step colder plugs per 50-100 HP Nitrous kit, colder if you go bigger. Have a WOT switch installed. Install a fuel PSI safety switch. Last be careful when you shift. I never let of the Nitrous or the throttle when I shift but I have been doing it for a long time. I recommend you let off the throttle when you shift. If your running Nitrous run with a WOT switch period, If you do not have a WOT switch installed and miss a shift bang you will blow something up. With a WOT installed you will shut the Nitrous off when shifting.

Last but not least DON'T call Nitrous NAWSSS.

If you have more Nitrous questions PM me. I have installed 50 plus Nitrous systems in the past 15 years and can help you not blow something up.

I will be adding a NX wet kit to my new G35 Coupe that I bought last week. I will call NX on Monday and ask about the HP limit on the G35 in stock trim. NX sponsored my NSX last year and have been very happy with their product.

John
