My SC went POOF

So I have a thread on myg37 and 370Z for this , Waited to start it here after all was said and done( Could keep up with three forums LOL)

So Three weeks ago I'm driving home from dinner with the wifey on the HW I go to pass this guy to get to our exit home and I get a bunch of fluid on my windshield ( A lot like the guy in front of my was washing there window) So We pull of I drive home, Like .5 mile put the car in the garage cool it off shut it off and go in the house, Not think to much about the fluid ,Really thought is was water from the guy in front of me..

So I go out the next morning and start the car to go to work starts ok, warm it up and go to work, I get the bottom of the street and hit the gas to merge into traffic and the car bucks "really hard" falls on its face and them goes. No CEL nothing, No its kinda limping around I go to work 5 min drive car sits for 45-60 mins( Personal trainer) and I go back out to go home Start the car, Starts fine but no everything I go more than 50% throttle is just bucks, and sputters , go back home 5 mins and park it outside in the driveway pop the hood and look around. There is SC fluid every where, Its coming right out the top of the SC, All over the back of the SC ,hose, wheel well, hood, and YUP on the windshield, So I look around see if anything else is leaking or maybe something popped off, Nope nothing is lose, Took a couple vids( Below) and called the tow truck and had it towed to the dealer, BTW Still no CEL..

The dealer looks at the car and says , No stored codes , Fuel is good spark is good, MAF's are good, So it's the SC, GREAT , But ok ? I have warranty because its only 5 months old and 5k miles ,Stillen's warranty will cover it.) So dealer takes it off and ships to Stillen.. This was last week..

Forward to today.. After two days of talking to Stillen, Stillen talking to Vortech, Decision is I PAY TO FIX IT! , So I guess there is a vent hole on top of the SC (Which is where all the fluid came from) and some how , NO ONE CAN SAY, Water go into it and contaminated the fluid? Ok so there is a design on the SC that there is an open hole in it, Water some how gets in there and its my fault, REALLY, I have NEVER once washed the engine, Hell its a 2011 with under 15k how dirty can it be. An is I did why would I not cover that stuff. I didn't know there was a hole on the SC but I would be worried the belt would get wet and slip off.. . I really can not see how they either place can blame me for this,, The SC is exposed to the elements out in the open in the engine bay, it has no shield , There is no notes on it or in the owners manual that there is a hole on it , Only thing it states is "It's a sealed self lubricating unit". Really its not sealed it has a opening that anything can go in.. BTW Neither Stillen or Vortech ever saw or heard of this issue, A one off thing, But still I pay, Really not happy,

So the SC is on its was to 928 for a rebuild, and Impeller up grade, What the heck mind as well start upgrading it cause there really is NO warranty on it is there?

The second vid I have the camera phone in a gym glove hanging out of the trunk, Sorry it all dark, LOL

From: Waltham Ma,
So just talked to Vortech said the same thing, Funny how they are trying to say I power washed the motor and did this myself, An there is NO posiability of water getting on it any other way, Yea casue if you drive in the rain or go through a puddle no water could EVER get into the engine, NO not EVER..

Just sux casue IF I did this myself why the frig with I be trying to get it warrtied, YES I know there are a lot of dishonest people out there but at 40 and not being one of them It just sux to have them tell you , You are one,. :/

If you paid using a credit card I would call them up since the vendor is not honoring the warranty, not only that you have a legitimate claim within their specified time frame and there is no proof that you caused the water to get inside the unit.

IMHO the design is flawed and thank you for posting up this info, it will help other members if they run into the same problem.

Thanks!

I did pay with a CC I will call and ask them about this, Time frame?? Really? I think it is flawed also the vent hole is at the bottom of another hole, Really who thought of that.

I think he has Stillen's HR kit since he has a G37 - Vortech makes the blower for that kit.

I'm with the posters above. I'd keep hammering Stillen and Vortech to prove it was user error that caused the issue.

From: Waltham Ma,
I agree with hammering them but , To not have a car is pretty upsetting, The car is sitting at the dealer for 3 weeks now.

Call your credit card company, explain your situation and inquire about their extended warranties. I always use Amex for big ticket items, and they have always helped out with bad vendors.

When I made my last post I was in a hurry, what I meant by saying "within their specified time frame" is that your claim is within your warranty period, these supercharges come with at least a 1 year warranty, and you have only been using it for 5 months.

Good luck!
