Best sound air filter on Turbo kit?

Does anyone have a favorite/best sounding air filter for a Turbo'd g35?

My assumption is that there is no difference in sound between any airfilters on a turbo kit.

You HAVE an air filter. That's a good start.

you need a compressor housing with anti-surge ports to really make the turbo sound different. If an airfilter is changing the sound, its probably not filtering properly

My compressor is antisurge. I was just wondering if different filters made different sound paired with a turbo.

I've never heard my air filter, only spooling.

Am I doing something wrong? :P

This is my 2nd turbo car....I was just wondering what effect a specific air filter might have over another. Does air flow, filter size, element type have anything to do with anything? For instance, power gains can be made by not using a filter, so would a "higher flow filter" make a difference. My fabricator put on a no name $30 cone filter, because their "all the same". But are they really, when it comes to FI?

well, airflow is a much better question than sound..haha. I'm not expert, but a filter is a restriction, so removing the restriction is optimal for airflow. But with filtration, there's a balance, in that if you flow more air, less is being 'filtered'. I think the foam hks/style probably flows the best, but i heard the filtration isn't as good. I think keeping the filter clean is the key, i'd prefer a filter that does it's job and keeping it clean, over a 'high flow' one that doesn't really filter.

I agree...that's why I've always gone with k&n. The fabricator I had went with a cheapo filter, and I was wondering what effect that might cause. I do believe in keeping the filter clean. Before I went FI I used to clean my k&n drop in every 3 months (ocd?). My original question is kind of like, does a filter change tone/performanc/cfm, similar to how it would n/a, or is it kind of irrelevant? I know it seems like an abstract and newbie question, and maybe it is. Tons of tests are done on filters/intakes for n/a, but I've never seen a similar test for FI.
