If you're thinking about getting a Vortech SC
If you're thinking about getting a Vortech SC
I've rummaged through the giant 80 lb Vortech box, just mentally going through the steps before my install in February. The parts, including the blower, intercooler, bracket and piping, seem extremely well made and very solid. Each of the numerous boxes of separate parts packed into the large box were hand inspected and signed-off. The kit is far nicer in quality, finish and sheer strength then I expected it would be.
I bought the kit through Avalon Racing and pestered Paul with numerous questions both by phone and e-mail over several weeks to get things right in my head about it. Paul was patient, knowledgable, and extremely responsive, often answering my e-mail questions within minutes. I have never had a more positive experience with any vendor I've found through the internet. I highly recommend Avalon Racing. I'm going to do the install myself and bring my car up to Londonderry, NH to have the gauges installed and the car dyno tuned.

Yes, I am going to do it myself with the help of a couple of knowledgable friends. I live in Amherst, MA. I could have it installed at XX Tuning in Hartford, CT or KTR Racing in Central Mass., but I would bring it to Avalon Racing in Londonderry, NH because of their experience (dozens of Vortech installations on Gs and 350Zs). I've decided to try it myself because I'm lucky enough to have the use of a second car during that week. This car is my daily driver.
I'll definitely be bringing it up to Avalon for the dynotune.

Great. I'm hoping you can get that Injen replacement pipe ready before the last week in February when I do my install.

gersteinp, Good luck with the install! You will be happy with Avalon as that is where I have purchased most of my mods (including s/c). Great service. They did my s/c install & tuning. I also had them do all re-tuning each time I had another major component installed (headers, plenum, etc.).
Thanks to all of you for your encouragement! Luckily, I've got two cracker jack mechanic friends to help me And, Paul from Avalon Racing for phone advice. Once again, I couldn't be happier with the service I've received from Paul.
