Destroker

Ive been fooling around with the Idea of Destroking my motor since I Installed my turbo. Well I know the benefits of destroking would grant me more rpm's. As of lately Ive been thinking of discarding the turbo all together and want to go for a supercharged setup. my question is would there be any real benefit to having a supercharger on a destroked motor. I would like to think so since the supercharger is driven off the engine so the more rpm's would mean i could spin the supercharger faster making more boost if i am correct. I just want to know what others think of the idea

Torque would suffer significantly. Better off trying to spin supecharger faster at lower RPM. Limited on SC options and Vortech seems to be the best performing choice overall.

Would not have a problem maxing out Vortech Impeller Speed even with 928 Impeller on a built motor @7200 RPM.

I had a low compression built engine which had less power over stock block below 2800 RPM, switched to High Compression (11:1) and much more lower end power.

You have a good point there. So now I have to ask what determines the boost on a supercharger. Would it be rpm or just pulley size? I'm more or less just wanting to be different with this new build. Haven't seen a destroked G plenty of 4.2's around though.

Goes the g25 have a shorter stroke? Maybe you can use that crank for a cheap OEM solution?

You want high revs because? I like the idea, but I think 302s (something that won't be so noticeable).

It'd be a sweet project. Keep us updated if you do it.

Before we get started with my explanation I will start with I Know.... Lol. Also this won't end up being a daily driven street car either most likely will set it up for road courses and time attacks. Another reason would be how much I love F1. Like I said I know lol and lastly Bragging rights and being unique.

Waste of time, the oil pumps are the weakness at high revs you would spin your oil pump apart before you have to worry about the crank or rods being an issue. I am reving to 7,800 with no issues. Guys wanting to rev higher Use the Nismo oil pump They are about $1,000 that would be a better/more proven solution.
