I'm including the brakes and coilovers in the $11,000 number that I spent...The reason I would like to stick to the Momentum shop is that they specialize in my engine, the owner has multiple 350's and a couple G's and just about all the mechanics are in the same boat. They are real respected in the area but are known for having less than stellar customer service. Unlike you I don't have anyone around here to get me free dyno time or a lift to make my life easier...I will be doing the suspension and brakes my self....

Ill look around for other shops that could install the momentum kit and see what they would charge but I think it would be hard to beat $2000 for labor, and dyno time...Thanks for the advice!

I think you should state your location and state...so other people can give you recommendations.

Its your money in the end. For $11k, I expect stellar customer service.

since your in north carolina..for $11k, you might as well just do a LS engine swap.

Do the gtm twin kit. Momentum has one of the best single turbo kits out there... Either way I would suggest building up the engine. But if it were me I would do the twins. Buy your own gauges. You need a air to fuel ratio, oil temp, boost. That's what I have if I had twins I may add oil temp and oil pressure. But you know... The prosport gauges I trust. Also aem and defi. Buy your coils yourself and your brakes. Plenty of them on the fs threads here. My next build will be with twins and a gtm beefed up motor. It's hopefully a few years off, but possibly a supercharged ls swap.... Just an idea. I will have to take a looksie at everything. But if I were you that's what I would do. Gtm twins.

I already got the coilovers and brakes, so I should be good there, I was going to get it all done in the same shop (to save my self the time) but they forgot to add the labor to the invoice, so now I'm doing the work with a buddy of mine. I agree the Momentum kit is top notch, and this is literally the last one out there (The shop I'm going to bought all of their inventory before Momentum went out of business)...I still got about a month and a half before I I got the last 5 grand saved up, so ill let all of this stir around in my head. I appreciate all the info!!!!

Most twin setups cost more on installation because it makes like 10X to drop the engine. Momentum's kit is installed on a lift without dropping the engine. I'd do momentum if I were you.

Thats the way I'm leaning right now...The experience of the shop is weighing a lot in my decision and the momentum shop specializes in the VQ35 engine.

Thats just stupid. So they have no clue how much boost they're pushing or what their A/F looks like . The G doesn't display as much info as the Z does which is even more of a reason for you to have the ability to monitor whats going on with the car. Things have a tendency to fail even with an excellent tune.

I just know what I have been told, and I have seen both of their printouts so I know what they were pushing....not sure about their boost numbers...Im gonna get gauges though, because I wont be around here for more than a year, so if something goes wrong I cant come to the shop and tell them to fix it.

It doesn't matter what they had when they were tuned. If a waste gate, BOV, turbo, fuel accessary...etc fails then the last tuning session at the shop doesn't mean squat. Essentially, your friends can over boost without knowing it and destroy their engines because they were to lazy to install a gauge. Not very smart IMO.

I have a customized turbonetics single turbo kit on my g. You need to know how much boost your at at all times. I have a bov and a wastegate. I don't want to blow something up. It one fails the other wont. Kinda of a fail safe. You at a minimum need the 3 gauges I told you. I'm probably going to be adding about 3 more when I do my twin setup. Knowing your numbers on any turbo kid is key. To lean air fuel ratio you screwed. Way to rich your screwed. PLX gauges makes a gat setup where you can monitor everything with 1 gauge. It displays 5 different things on one gauge. I had it when I turbo'd my Mazda 6. Either turbo kit is coming from a great brand. There was someone on here in the fs thread selling a momentum it for like 4k I think which is a steal.
