Question 2003 G35 Coupe 6MT-Need Twin Turbo

Hey everyone, just finished my Osiris Uprev dyno tune on the 2003 G35 Coupe 6MT, (280 RWHP)-Mustang Dyno ECS Performance Connecticut

Stillen True Dual Catback(2nd Gen),
Kinetix HFC's(will be replaced soon, maybe FI, Berk, or Crawford?),
Stillen Ceramic Headers,
Stillen Cold Air Intake(with Z tube/K&N Cone Filter),
370Z MAF and Injectors,
ACT Stage 1 Clutch
ACT Lightweight Flywheel
20'' TSW Mirabeau Rims(Forged), Wrapped with Low Profile Nittos

The only thing left to do is replace the HFC's(too raspy at WOT), and bolt on MREV Spacer/Motordyne Upper Plenum

Any suggestions for this setup are greatly appreciated, as I've heard of a few N/A G's getting into the low 12's in the 1/4 mile @290+whp(must have pointed the spark plug opening towards the pistons)

I would like to do a twin turbo setup on this engine, but I just got up to 94,000 mi on the original block and I don't want to spend a fortune just to watch my compression drop overnight, any used setups out there for sale?

Let me know what you all think...

Thanks,

Dave

Are you planning on running those 20s on the track when the time comes?

Might be a good idea to start looking at dropping some weight, rotational mass specifically.
You already have the flywheel but getting some lightweight pulleys, CF drive shaft, even some rotors and smaller forged wheels...

You can't put a twin turbo on a stock-internals motor, man. That would be the biggest waste of money ever. A proper TT would cost you at LEAST $15k.

My tuner has dealt with 100+ TT Z's and G's with stock internals. He said they will last for 80k+ with a proper tune, fuel system, and supporting modifcations. I'll learn the hard way. Engine is at 30k now, 1k boosted so far.

OP I recommend AAM high flow cats, even the berks are going to still be raspy. I know AAM blows berk out of the water in terms of quality.

How did they treat you at ECS? Have they done a TT G35 yet? I drove from CT to PA to see Vince at RT tuning. Worth it..... He knows his stuff.

Edit: If you want to go TT you need a lower mileage engine.

At what? 6lbs boost? That's not even worth the cost of a kit.

Don't knock it till you've tried it. My base tune performance @5psi was worth every penny. @9 psi I'm giggling like a school girl lol. Even at 5 pounds, you see 325whp easily and your car sounds like a jet plane... That being said I would never buy a new kit. Used is the way to go. My used kit came re-built turbos.

I changed my mind, the boosted performance kit is plug n play at 5.5k starting. That is a good buy.

No, I would like to run slicks at the track, but the Mirabeau's perform well with the stock sport suspension. I've gone 80mph with this setup on highway off ramps without squeal, lift, or give.

I agree, I'm interested in an LS2 swap(sounds incredible with Stillen), that has TT already installed. Should fit easy haha, but if this motor isn't too low on compression now, I would like to rebuild and use this block if possible.

Thanks man, I'll look into AAM asap for the HFC's.

ECS in Connecticut treated me great. They were very fast, knowledgeable, and yes happened to just tune this guy Devon's G35 a few weeks prior. (500+rwhp) supercharged

Anytime. I may have to pay them a visit to help me with some troubleshooting. I needed that G driver stamping of approval
