Turbo exhaust manifold ?

I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not but my friend told me he can set me up with a turbo if I get him the turbo exhaust manifold. I was told all I need is the manifold and he can get me the set up for like $1500, is this true or is he just an idiot? He said lots of the turbos are universal so not sure

it's possible. piping isn't that expensive and all you have to do is cut and weld.. but with the lack of room to work in, it'll take awhile if you don't have the right tools. plus you need all the other little things like oil feed/return lines, gaskets, downpipes, fuel/timing management, intercooler. With the manifold you have to decide if you want an internal wastegate or external. It's not too hard to make a kit if you have time and patients and know how a turbo works

when i had my honda.. i made most of the parts myself.
and right now i'm piecing together a single turbo for my G slowly but surely.
