Another APS TT install

I have a 350Z, but I hope this info is also helpful to those of you with a G.

I picked up my car this morning from Dyno-Comp in Scottsdale, AZ, and just completed the 300 mile drive home. This car has really been transformed....I feel like I'm driving a better version of my 2002 Z06, with equal or greater power. Second gear is flat out amazing........I'm still stunned by the brute power the twin snails create. Aside from the much better ACT clutch, the car feels just like stock until you get on it.....then look out.

The dyno numbers are posted below. This is about 150 HP increase on a bone stock car! I'll be adding the APS plenum and exhaust in the fall when I can get back down to Dyno-Comp. These guys did a superb job installing and tuning my car. I really can't praise them enough. Imagine the best way you would want your car taken care of, and that's exactly how they do it. If you're considering such mods and you're within a reasonable distance from Scottsdale, don't go anywhere else.

Special thanks to Richard Garcia (Dyno-Comp) and Peter (APS) for their knowledge and perserverance, and for putting up with me to get this job done is such fine fashion.

Very nice numbers for a bone stock car. Is this the out of the box tune or was it tuned to these numbers? I can remember reading somewhere that the out of the box tune is 6.5psi...not sure though.

Congrats. I am sure you are enjoying

that was not out of the box - he said that dyno comp did a custom "more-conservative" tune for him due to the hot weather conditions and the fact that he's still running stock everything else... I'm pretty sure with the plenum, hf cats, and t-d exhaust, 400hp is just around the corner...

congrats ZZ!

I guess I should have asked if the 8.5psi comes with the out of the box tune or was it bumped up from 6.5psi.

Lovely to hear that you're thrilled with the APS twin turbo system, I look forward to a full and comprehensive report after you get to know the car better.

Yes an excellent power gain given your Z car has retained the dead stock Nissan factory exhaust system and cats and the engine is tuned for 91 octane fuel and the very high ambient temperatures in and around Nevada, all good and engine safety has to be the number 1 priority

Good to hear that you're wanting more power in the future - I reckon there will be another 40 to 50 WHP to be gained with the APS TD exhaust and tall ball plenum, all good.

Dyno-Comp are a first class operation and Richard runs a fantastic shop, good dyno experience and excellent turbocharger knowledge, you'd be hard pressed to find a beter shop in the entire US imho.

You're most welcome and without guys like yourself and others on this forum we at APS would not have the opportunity to be part of the US performance car industry - thanks for your business and I hope you have many years of enjoyment from your Z car.

Thanks

Peter

Thanks.....I was planning on waiting for cooler weather to drive back to AZ for the exhaust, but the power is addicting......I may make the trip very soon indeed.
