FI, or wait for '07 models?

Im in Afghanistan until next February. When I get home I really want to finally get the APS TT, but there are a lot of great cars coming out for '07 or '08- the GT-R, new M3, the new AMG C class, and possibly an IS350 coupe or convertible. Im hesistant to spend $12,000 on a TT that I might only drive for a year and will just lower my resale value. I owe about $23K on it, if I dont get the TT, I'll use the money to pay it off. If I do get it, I'll still pay off a good deal of it. Should I get the TT Ive always wanted or be the responsible adult and just pay the car off and wait for a new car in '07?

I contemplated the same thing until I heard the GTR will be in the 70K range... that makes after market TT now a much better alternative (cheaper anyway).

A choice only you can make, but for the cost of a quality TT, you're going to have something faster than almost anyting on the road from a factory, in the price range. If you plan to keep it a while, go for the TT.

If you plan on buying a $50K car in the next year or so... don't spend money in the meantime on a TT.

Dude, a G is 40g TOPS. Then there's probably 12k for the turbo.. How are you going to use 52g's to get a 70-80k car?

If you don't plan on keeping the car long.. I think you said something about keeping it for a year.. then wait for the 07's and do a lease. Will save you in the long run.

Hope you're doing well in afghan.

I would tell you hand's down, wait for the '07.

But this is coming from some one who doesn't have a Twin Turbo on his car and can't tell you about all the sh*ts and giggles that must come from having that on your ride.

Another thing you might consider is the fact that if you wait for the '07, it might be a new engine so you'll be among the first doing a TT setup, which means a lot of trial and error, not to mention waiting for some kits to come out.

If you decide to TT the current G, it's already been done, so I can imagine it would be much less painless.

Like Durham said, go for a ride in his car, you might want to TT your car right then and there.
