Engine Warranty with FI
So, there seem to be some common problems with G's. Some of these are addressed with TSB's and some aren't. For example, when the car goes into limp mode it could be a bad vdc sensor or bad throttle body. There are also TSB's for rear axle click, etc. So, say I get FI installed and then I get a problem that has a engine TSB out for it. Will this be covered by my warranty or will they say no because I will have FI? What if I get an engine problem that doesn't have a TSB, but is common to many other G owners? Thanks.
the dealer has to prove that the f/i was the direct cause of the failure. tt kit and burnt clutch, probably not warrantied. but if you have a suspension problem, they can't void your warranty just because you have f/i. it's called the magnusson-moss act i think. check it out.

actually there is fineprint
"The Magnusson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975 protects consumers from such fradulent activity by new car dealers. Under this Act, aftermarket equipment that improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer's orginial warranty, unless the warranty clearly states the addition of aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle's warrany or if it can be proven that the aftermarket device is the direct cause of the failure. The easiest way to check this is to look in your owner's manual under, "what is not covered". Under Magnusson-Moss Act a dealer must prove, not just vocalize, that aftermarket equipment caused the need for repairs before they can deny warranty coverage. If they cannot prove such claim-or offer an explanation- it is your legal right to demand compliance with the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission (202.326.3128) administers the Magnusson-Moss Act and monitors compliance with warranty law.

You guys are right about the MMA, but to go through the trouble is just a PIA, just find a mod-friendly dealership if possible? But don't you basically throw out any warranty when you go FI anyways? Gotta pay to play right?
Hell, I don't really have many mod's on the car yet and got alot of crap when my syncro's got messed up. Apparently I race my car in 5th and 6th gear
. I had to drive 2hr's to a better dealership just to get warranty work.
