Question

My G35 coupe has a custom single turbo. My friend drove cuz I drank a little too much. But he downshifted and bounce off redline, then upshifted and the car just died and didnt restart. I thought it might be a bent rod, but no loud noise. and It just clicks when you try and start it. Somebody else said it might be bent valves and head gasket. The shop I use said they tried to turn the motor over by hand, but I dont think they did b/c my turbo kit sits between the motor and core support. If you have any advice or ideas please let me know. that would be great thank you

So your saying the motor will not move at all? when u try to start it you hear the starting clicking, like trying to turn the motor but it cant, right?

If thats the case, you have major probs,, bent rod lodged against something, or even possible a dropped valve in the cylinder preventing the motor to turn.
Did the shop try to turn the motor both ways? And did they take the plugs out to take a look at them? Damage etc....
Need more info...

the motor doesnt even try to turn over. I dont really think the shop turned it over at all. but someone said they did. Dont think they checked the plugs either. but I will do that today, and try to turn the motor by hand. I was planning on building anyways.. It doesnt even TRY to turn over, just sounds like the starter is clicking. I would think it would still try to turn over with a bent rod. Just make a nasty knock. I appreciate your help. I just had it towed back to the house to do paintwork on it. and I am going to start tearing it down soon. Starting with the heads to see if the valves are a problem. If not I will move on to yanking the bottom. and building it.

If the rod is broke/bent it could be wedged in the bottom end, keeping it from rotating. And by taking the plugs out will most likely tell you what cylinder your problem is.. If it was a broke rod or dropped valve the plug will be beat to sh#$... Start with the spark plugs and go from there,, good luck bro...

When I bent a rod the motor would not turn even when I tried to turn the motor with a crowbar.

Since you are in TX you should check out SGP. They have a lot of different motor packages starting from $2700. www.sgpracing.com

Good luck!
