SC vs. TT

I am thinking about going FI soon, and was wondering. If i dont want to have to do any extensive engine over haul which would be a better choice? I might want to do engine work later on so i was thinking of getting TT so that when i do decide to go for more boost i would be able to. also this will be my daily driver so i want this setup to be realiable. Any comment is welcome.

TT....you'll be a lot happier with the power band. It makes for a REALLY fun driving experience. The SC was a little too linear for me. But the TT just comes on all of a sudden. It is truly a blast to drive. The trick is to get a nice, reliable TT setup. APS would be a good place to start.

After all the SC and TT kits I have seen, driven, installed, and the ST kits I have seen and driven, I would go with the TT. (the JWT TT to be more percise) This kit seems to me to be the right one for your purposes.

Im in the exact same situation as you. I got my turbos then built my car and my car is a daily driver. In 2.5 years ive put on about 52,000 miles. The setup I have is the Speed Force Racing TT kit. They made cover of D-Sport magazine this month with Steve(Tinmans) car so you can read up on it. Go with whatever you want but def go turbo. All kits out there are pretty awesome. Do your research before buying because this is a big step for your car.

IMO...Hell yes. The ST systems (for these cars) that I have seen and driven seem to have a great deal of turbo lag and a more narrow power band compared to a TT system. This is the nature of the ST system, especially on a V style motor (V6, V8, etc.) This is, IMO why, in most cases it is better to use a turbo per engine bank. Like a Supra, M3, etc. (in line 6's) are IMO, better suited for, and work very well with a ST system, and most V motors (V6, V8, V12) seem to respond better to a TT set up.

I now these economical ST systems are getting popular, but in my opinion it is WAY worth it to spring the little extra for a good TT system. If you are gonna do it.......Do it once, and do it right!

Did I mention.....I HATE turbo lag?!!
