Get on the list for the naked Fazer. Then get ready to start wiping the 'tang juice from the pillion. Just dont kill yourself before you get some.

Ducati Monster S2R is an awesome naked bike. If you dont have any friends to ride with though, it gets old fast.

+1 It is fun at first having the freedom but it does get old as where the turbo would not (IMO).

Id get the R6...the money you dump into the supercharger/turbo will never come back. If you want a faster car, sell the G and go from there.

That is true, you won't have the resale value like you do with the bike. In the end you are going to do what you want anyway. Some people get a bike, other go FI. I got the bike and changed my mind. It is better to look around and get a good deal on a bike so you can get most or all of your money back if you change your mind that way. If you go FI first then you don't have that choice...

It sounds like you're new to bikes. The R6 is NOT a beginner's bike. Don't be a squid. Nn offense intended, but every day, literally, someone buys an R6/CBR600RR/ GSXR without knowing how to ride. Usually these are the guys that wear flipflops, wife beaters and no helmet while riding. These are also the guys that invariably end up scattered messily across the road. Don't be that guy. As a biker, it gets to me every time I see another biker die, even if I dont know him/her.

That all said, get a bike, and take the extra dough and get good riding gear. You can find a nice SV650 for less than 4k, and its THE beginner bike. The Ducati S2R is also a good beginner bike, but expensive. (I'm a Ducati freak, as if the user name didn't give it away)

cycletrader.com is good.

Also, check the local biker boards. Not sure of any out in NY, though.

If you're in the market for a Ducati, here's some off the top of my head. There are other makes, too, but obviously They're Ducati-centric. They're more or less our equivalent of g35driver.

You can find personal sellers on cycletrader. You just have to sift through the dealer offerings. The first bike I bought was off cycletrader, from a private seller.
Generally, finding a good deal can take some work. Thank goodness for the internet.

Are you asking about my RR? If so shipping is about $600-700. Mine came from NJ so I know just who to use. There is this shipping company that just ships bikes.
