I was just wondering if anyone out there knows if this conversion has been done in a G, I've seen it done in the Z but not heard of any in the G's

 

i dont beleive it has been attempted yet. id like to do that swap but money would be an enormous issue.

 

I was sooo close to doing it. But in the end I just went with APS TT.

 

I saw an SR20DET G35 featured in a superstreet some months back, I don't remember all the details.

 

Thats the signal auto car.

 

yeah the SR20 i have seen, but tossing around the idea of the RB26 and trying to see if it has been done

It could be done. The thing that’s going to suck is the wiring. We have a 26 in our S13 and that was a pain in the A, the G35 has a lot more computer control than an S13 has. It can be done, but it’s going to take a lot of time and money. I tell people looking at an RB26 -> 240sx swap that they should look at a min of $10K for a stock swap. To put one in a G35 you may be looking at a good $5-7K more than that just for a stock motor.

 

Top Secret has probably done it.

 

They've done it on a 350Z but not a G35; however, Top Secret swapped a V8 into the G35 and TT it

 

yea top secrets engine swap is the best out of any G35

 

even if i have the money i wouldnt do that... its an old engine, tho its better to modify it than the vq (they say)... why not slap all the money in your vq engine, put tt, or sc and t... our car is new then ur gon put an old engine? big no for me....

 

i know the RB is a proven motor, but why would you ever think about giving up almost a full liter of displacement? so what if you can make 1000hp on the RB.....do you have any ideas the size of turbos you'd need to do it? ...and the crazy lag........

a TT VQ35 will make for a much better driver. JMHO

 

Its been done I think the company was called JE racing it was in Turbo magazine a few months ago.
