Vortech Question

Sorry but i need to get fast answers. The kit comes with a box that control the timing right? How come you need a tuner, if it comes with preprogram timing box that there is no way you can access in to it? Well that’s what I got in the box. The other thing that I am kind of worry as well is that, they don’t send any injectors replacement instead they send another fuel pump that needed to be install at the front. So what is vortech trying to do? Do they want to force the stock injectors with higher pressure? With 0.5 bar boost, do you guys think this set up would be safe enough? For the future i mean.

Thank you

The timing box is made by Split Second. It works fine, your car will start right up no problem. It is programed at a base line for easy set up.Since some cars can vary from others. There is a serial port on the side, probally covered up by tape.A tuner can access that port for tuning. What a tuner can do is set it up for your car and if you have any other mods that will affect your car.The kit works fine with the stock injectors. The extra fuel pump is controlled by the FMU & SS timing box.It will give extra fuel when needed since there is no stock fuel return system.I installed mine completly by myself and it started up imediatly with no problems.Afterwards I had it dyno tuned,it picked up 60 more HP.

Caskyline...how loud is your SC at idle. Vortech is one of the options I'm considering, but there was not one at the tuner so that I could hear it in persons. I've heard it's loud as hell and it sounds sweet. Your opinion???

Thank your for your explanation... I have it dyno and the result was around 353 hp on the wheel at 0.3bar or around 5 psi roughly.. That leads me to another question because.. vortech claim it should be running around 7 psi right??? (correct me if i am wrong) I also didn't get any serial cable or any cd for software... so how can my tunner tune it???

Thank you

The kit doesn't come with any software or cable, just the input. The shop I went to had evrything allready. The max boost I got at max rpm was 8.9 psi.I do have a different crank pully,Fluidamper, which is actually a overdrive.I believe 8psi is stock.

The sound of the supercharger is loud at idle.To me it sounds like a turbo diesel truck.

Yeh.
I'm running 370whp, and 300 ft/lb torque 7psi.
It needs to get tuned right.
I left everything else alone except for the injectors and an oil pan spacer when I installed the vortech. (not me personally installed)
but yes....my vortech at idle is a very loud son of a bit$h. Sounds like a junk car that has major engine issues...once you go above like 800 rpms though...that gargle noise goes away.
I've tried everything to get rid of the gargle...can't do it.
