I wonder how much smaller it will be compared to the G coupe. Since it's based on the Z it should be able to fit the VQ37. BMW 1 Series fighter?

According to the article they may use the 2.5L V6 in this vehicle...i'm interested to see what it looks like and how it will be marketed.....i would like to see it turbocharged or supercharged though.

It will be marketed to compete with the 1 series and the CLK coupe (the small one)

There isn't such thing as an Infiniti "based on the Z".

The correct way to say it is its based off the FM platform, which both the 350Z and most Infiniti's are based on.

As far as the VQ37VHR, the only car to have it on so far in the U.S is the G37 Coupe.

I think this is a great idea from Infiniti.

If this car comes out to production (which it will, its just a matter of time), it might be my next car if it meets these points:

- Less than 3350 lbs
- 300+ V6 HP engine
- Looks more aggressive than the G37

It's a completely different class of car. So I doubt Infiniti will keep the "G" in it.

Like the article said, its a smaller lighter 2-door coupe car that will most likely go head to head against the 135i.

Dont get those weight hopes up (or down as the case may be).

Just like the 135s, this is a lux car family, entry level or not, they dont sell strippers so this will have to have leather, heated, 6 way adjs w/ lumbar, foot rests, and self flossing sun visors, this small car will still weigh a lot more then small coupes of days gone by.

The current 128/135 unloaded weigh
3252 MT / 3373 MT
or
3329 AT / 3384 MT

Any 1 series fighter will have to compete in luxury or it wont be an Infiniti. It will be a litte Phat-fat-rod. More doughnts anyone?
