Correct me if I'm wrong, 7 gears for the vert!? How many gears are there for the coupe? Just 6 right?

 

i thought the current at's are all only 5speeds.
6sp is only the MT (?).

7sp is kinda over kill for the at, but will see how it goes. 5sp is a
tad short on the expressway.

 

Hhmmm, I'm not a big convertible fan because of the back window... I'd like to see the top up and see the back window, otherwise, that's a beautiful car.

 

All 2009 G37's will have a 7 speed automatic or 6 speed manual.

How is it an overkill? It has better, more efficient gearing. It should help acceleration a bit and improve gas milage. That's great news for those who are looking for an automatic.

I agree with what you're saying. In 10-15 years we'll probably have 10 speeds on autos.

 

Actually, doesnt Lexus already have an 8 speed trans in their LS?

 

The whole point is not having the top up and have a panoramic view of the back.

btw: They listened to our complaint and fixed the odd looking tail lamps. Great job Infiniti. Now I am just waiting for them to drop in a V8 and it's time to say goodbye to the SL and G35 Coupe.

 

im not a fan, but at least they added this to there line up for people who do like it

 

it's a hardtop design... so the back window should not be a problem. i have a 335 convertible now... and there's no difference in visibility b/n my car and the standard coupe.

the g convertible looks pretty good. the rear looks a little funny to me though. i'd like to see more pics and angles even with the top up.. just to check out the lines. a great step forward for infiniti i would think!

Well, as much as I love the styling of 2 seater roadsters, they are simply not practical when people ask for a ride. I had some visitors wanting to get a ride in the SL down PCH, I end up having to make 4 trips carrying them one at a time - that's frigging lame. Give me some backseats so you can actually cruise around with a bunch of friends down the beach.

The car looks pretty good so far, the rear end design is way better than the Ferrari California, can't wait to see some more pics and with the top up.

Not exactly. The convertible from that teaser shot looks like it will be receiving a set of wraparound tails just like the V36 Sedan, however the Coupe's tails haven't changed one bit.

 

/\ Wtf is that, looks like a coupe journey 37.......take a look at the G37 convertable taillights, they look like its from a G35, you got your pics messed up buddy....false info ftl!
