man, i can't believe you guys want the 370Z to be some god holy sport coupe.

come on, it's a $28k Nissan. The car does it's job, perfectly. I think the current 350z has executed its job very well to compete with the WRX, Eclipse v6, etc..

370z will be a great car. More power, less weight, and as someone mentioned, similar, borrowed tech from the GTR.

I am pretty excited.

I am pretty sure we all know why 300zx, Supra, VR4, RX7, NSX, etc. went bye bye right? Yes they had power, but they were too expensive and sales were very low.

You're missing the point. Nissan is openly-challenging Porsche to steal away potential Boxster/Cayman buyers, and I believe they are succeeding in doing so with good marketing backed by competitive product.

Where do you get this "god holy sport coupe" crap from?

this thread.

Nissan needs to beat an E46 M3 before they challenge the cayman.

Uhhhhh...

The GT-R has been compared many times in the trade rags to the new M3, and has walked all over it on every occasion in every performance category.

The 370Z is not--and never has been--targeted at the M3.

The closest Z competitors in the current BMW line-up are the 135i, M Coupe, and M Roadster.
