The M is finally in a different league with very sporty lines. The present car although subtle in its design, was always somewhat mundane.

Idk man, looks very Camry like in the rear, and has some Accord in the headlights, the front I can most likely grow to, but the rear...I will have to wait to see it in the flesh with my own eyes for final judgment. Definitely somewhat dissapointed, this car looks soft in so many areas. The interior sure as hell looks beautiful, id bet it smells beautiful too

^It was the same thing with the 2nd gen sedan and coupe.

I bet if you go back and view those threads for the first 'spotted' sightnings of the 2nd gen G35s, you will see a lot of people hating on the new style, the roundness, etc.

Now, the ironical part is that half the people hating on the new sedan, if you look in their sigs, are now driving 2nd gen stuff haha

look at the sedans in the $50k range...5-series is due for a makeover, the XF is underpowered compared w/ the M and less features (excludes the XF-R or supercharged version, Audi A6 has a run for it's money, and the new E-class looks like the old school Q45

i can agree with you in that.. but when talking only about styling, the new M looks similar to the XF, from the foglights up front to the tail lights in the back. the interior maintains the infiniti interior, which is gorgeous. But, i see a strange trend coming along..... if you look at all the aforementioned $50k sedans, they all look to be designed by the same person. 2011 550i, 2011 M45, 2011 XF, 2011 e500... they're all starting to look like older generations of themselves with a few more rounded edges.

in addition, the rear tail lights look to be a child of the xk8 and the e500 tail lights.

Most cars these days have similarities in styling.
